Euro car WITHOUT side markers/3rd light?
After making my first 928 purchase I was so thrilled I bought another one that's in sad shape but does run pretty good. It was advertised as a 80 euro with the hp 300 hp motor. It does have the kilometer/german words dash but no markers on the sides, no 3rd light. Also has m28/12 block stamping. Is it possible this IS a euro? Or could you get a 1980 300 hp american 928S????

Euro. Post the VIN and somebody here can confirm.
Also, engine number, located near front of V, slightly to pass side of front of block.
Could be an interesting car, pics would be good.

I tried posting a pic but it asks for a URL??? I will probably have to be a paid member to post pics from my hard drive I guess. I'm planning on joining anyway. So much valuable info how could I not? Anyhow Landseer....I've been lurking here for about 6 months and have read many posts by you. You offer great advice to new 928 fans and I'm one of those. I love your collection of 928's...I will get that vin posted. Thanks

Post your vin and it will be easy to figure what you have. The stamp on the block will confirm that the motor was never swapped.
If your vin is WP0ZZZ..... it is Euro
If it is WP0JB0.....it is US
If you are verifying that it is stamped M28/12 then it is a Euro S 300 HP motor
If your vin is WP0ZZZ..... it is Euro
If it is WP0JB0.....it is US
If you are verifying that it is stamped M28/12 then it is a Euro S 300 HP motor

If you had the 928 iphone app 928 Legend you would have been able to easily look it up and see that a M28.12 engine is a EURO S 300hp that was for the auto trans cars...

Euro models destined for Switzerland do not get the rear bumper light. My brothers 79 is like that. If this is the car in your avatar it looks like there is a side light behind front wheel well.

This is only correct for 1981 and later model years, when the 13-digit VIN standard was introduced.
Earlier years have year/model info in the VIN that differentiates S from non-S and US/Euro - but the WP0ZZZ only came in '81.
