Puffy rear visors. Any fix?
Just noticed my rear visors have started to puff. They are vinyl. Can they be repaired or is replacement the only option? Prefer to repair as 34 year old cork floor vinyl is hard to match. I have a good local upholstery guy who did a good job regluing my puffed front seats. I'll give him a call but wanted to check here if anyone has had luck fixing theirs.

You will have to replace with something new inside the vinyl. The insides will be crumbled dust mostly. If you can find a set of later S4 visors...they are solid hard foam vacuum fitted with vinyl. That what I did with my son's car.

Mine are used most frequently to hold up the rear window reflector-shade when the car is parked. In between those duty times I use them to fill those recessed cavity depression areas in the ceiling just forward of the front edge of the hatch glass. They are probably handy for folks travelling in the rear seats, should that ever happen...

They do shade the rear seat passengers (pretty much has to be kids only) from sun on the head - but they cut down rear visibility quite a bit - I'll bet the % of use overall is in the 0.0001% range.
Wouldn't look too bad with them just removed...

Mine have been removed for years now. Install a screw in the hole with a recessed washer and paint them the same color as the interior.

I say fix them. The interior roof looks like it is missing something if you leave them off. It looks like the car isn't finished. Those indents are too obvious.

Here's the way I see it, if someone gets in your car, looks in the back, and gets past the novelty of wondering if someone could really fit in those seats, then they are eyeballing your car a little to close. lol
