I actually use mine frequently hauling around my two 3-year-old daughters to preshool twice a week and on the weekends. Mine are fine, but good to know the later S4 style is more robust and is a direct swap.

Too bad for me there's no such thing as Cork color S4 interior. Wondering if I can make a little incision and spray aerosol glue into it and then let it dry with a heavy weight on it. Maybe I'll pick up a ratty one on ebay and experiment a little.

I take it yours are leather since they're "puffy." That describes mine. Maybe you can find some in vinyl that have survived better. No one but you will know.

On one of the BMW magazine I had read a fix they had done on a 2002.
They slit the visor at the seam where the vinyl is heat seamed (I think) took out the inside because it had deteriorated and replaced it with new flat foam. After that they glued the seam with crazy glue. They put the crazy glue on the seam and put a weight on it to get it to seal. The seam that they had cut was the one on top because it was a front visor.
Hope that helps. I have not tried it.
