I've converted two cars. A suggestion is to just use a floor mount clutch pedal with factory slave. The stock system is a bitch to bleed and get right. Top that off, if your clutch master bracket isn't added just right it will chew through masters at an alarming rate.

Other than that it all just bolts right in. Also, get the dual disc, it's a much nicer setup!
thanks. I was under the impression that shifting an old auto trans like it were a manual would / could be very bad for it.

so these paddle shifters are for auto trans?..... hmmmm. I wonder if that would give me enough functionality to make it a fun track car for twistys and such.

Dave, ledee was talking Corvette 6spd, (post # 24 above) so I was thinking GM's T-56 or TR 6060. T

This one is up & running matted to an 82 S.C. 4.5 motor with no issues: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...swap-pics.html

This one is being installed now & is matted to a LS376/525 motor. Both T-56 6spd manuals. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...b-project.html

On the drawing board is the GM 6l80 6spd auto trans with paddle shift, or maybe an auto tap stick like MB used on some of there later models. T

that first thread is what has motivated me to explore the option. It looks like it went off without much issue. I am super stoked about it. I am wondering.... if I use a SBC, will it mate directly to a vette transaxle? I mean part of the conversion kit is making the torque tube and sbc mate up with the porsche transaxle. if I use a vette trans, then it will be chevy to chevy. Maybe as far as the actual mating between the two, it wont be as complicated.

seriously though, will a sbc mate with that vette 6 sp trans without issues? Could I possibly even use a vette torque tube for this, and cut the "928" completely out of the drive train?
