I did a search for "manual conversion", and wouldn't you be suprised to know... it worked! Another one of life's riddles, solved.

Trams. torque tube, cluch kit, flywheel, clutch hydralics including the firewall mount for the clutch master cylinder and rear suspension cross member. You also might want to know someone who knows what they are doing when putting it all together.

Best solution? Buy a 5 speed.

What's up with your cars? Are they running and on the road yet?

Yes sir. The 80 US is registered, and running. It actually runs pretty damn well. I had to install a battery disconnect though. Kept getting battery drainage from some where. Since that install, no problems to speak of.

I have decided to pull the motor of the 84 euro and do what I have gotten a ton of sh-t for mentioning in the past...hence I will not mention it again. I was able to get it turning over and running. It appears as if the MAF may have one of the wires messed up. I am referring to the sensor wires on the inside. The car ran but it was running a bit rough. Of course it has been sitting for 3 years. I was told that it sat in a garage for over 10 years previous to its exile to a field. That probably explains why the motor is in good shape as far as fittings and such not being rusty at all.

The motor and trans are coming out soon. I will pull it all apart once it is out, the ebay store will fill up with items. I would recommend watching the store closely if you are in the market. I would imagine things like heads and intake will not be around for very long. I will give you guys the heads up as far as when the store gets stocked. This will give rennlisters first shot at anything on there. That is the least I can do for all the help you guys have given me.

The 84 is going to be a full resto mod, so there may be other parts other than engine stuff going in there as well. The rules on here regarding selling things and ebay are pretty strict, so I am trying to not cause any drama.

Good new and fresh start. Did you see the thread on converting over to the Vette 6 speed? Only a few guys here have any problems with conversions if they are done right. A Vette six speed would be a great addition to any 928, especially an AT. Check out the thread and there might be a great new kit offered soon. I have never figured out how to post links to other threads so if someone can post the 6 speed conversion thread that would be great.

actually, I haven't been on here in a while. I figured I would give you guys a small rest from all of my manic posting. That sounds pretty cool though. I plan to make the euro a high hp track car, and as such I need to ditch the auto trans.

A manual conversion from Auto is just too much work - not worth it - just find a manual to start with.

I have to agree go find a cheap manual car to start with it will be cheaper for you to buy a whole car for all the parts you will need. Why bother take everything out twice and try to cut and cobble things back together to make it work. You already have a good parts car with the auto you can get the cheapest rattiest 5 speed you can find cause you have all the good stuff from the auto to swap over.

Here's a picture that I stole off of Rennlist here, I want to say that this belongs to Rich Andrade, can't remember. If anyone knows holler so I can give appropriate credit.

EDIT: Found it:

In any case, what's missing from this $2500 pile of parts is a serviceable 5-speed transmission. Seems like an awful lot of money when you could start with a 5-speed car....
