No worries, if you ever make it out to Road America, you just have to figure out a way to hang with David Treichel in his 993 to live up to the Zombie legacy:

The 997's chassis/aero/brakes were just too much for Dave's 993 despite him having a big hp advantage.

The last lap of the 997 was 2:13, a smoking time.

Speed Racer Mark Anderson, I clocked him at a best of 2:16, another great time, especially considering the age difference of the two cars.

For reference, for all you people less familiar with Road America... My best lap in the "Ultra-stock" Coke Car was a 2:44. Granted, I was doing a DE, but I wasn't exactly doing parade laps. These guys are beating me by 30+ seconds, which is a lifetime!

Road America really is a HP track. Andrew you should look at Kiborts times as a closer comparison. And it took me years at that track to get down to that 2:16. Keep it up and enjoy the process

Bump.

7 years is too long between track days. Spent the week at Greg's taking stock of all the bits needed to make the Zombie run again- Greg's done a ton of work on the latest iteration of his dry sump setup. We have a new composites shop doing some touch-up on the old carbon fiber intake, and hoping to get this motor in the car and running again soon.

Moar progress of late, the carbon fiber intake is back on the motor, the scavenge and dry sump pumps have been plumbed and we're hoping to get the motor running on the test stand this weekend. Greg designed a custom FOE harness that drops the unneeded circuits and drops the weight of the harness by 35%.

Intake runner repair:

We're hopeful that this new engine runs on my test stand, this weekend.
And yes, I shamed Rob into replacing that taped up POS 14 pin harness.....

I'm sure Rob will have pictures to post!

Yup, Norcal NASA

https://nasanorcal.com/

The norcal group wanted a track day, 2020 was a covid bust, but I arranged one for August 2021.

Not counting Katie..two 928s came................................

New Zombie motor making healthy noises. Had a marathon session this weekend to make sure everything was kosher for first fire. Note the external oil tank on the convenient height-adjustable forklift platform. 15 quarts of break-in oil, verified the function of Greg's dual dry-sump setup. The head extraction system moves serious volumes of oil at these relatively low rpms!
