Default Where is the horn on my 1982?

I have been crawling all around this car for a few weeks and just realized I have not run across the horn. Where should it be? It doesn't work, so I cannot listen for the location. Thanks!

Just replaced mine with the commonly-recommended Wolo "Bad Boy" horn. Had to fab a small bracket (a few inches of 1" x 1/8" aluminum angle) to hang it upright, but otherwise a plug-in. It's louder than original but still the two tones. HF stores stock them. If you need to replace yours, this is a reasonable option.

A recent incident with a sleep-driver prompted the change for me. There are times when a freight-train horn is needed, but most times we just need a gentle toot to wake someone texting as the light turns green then red again.

Are the horns behind the cover? I have removed rear cover to look at the washer tank. Are they behind the front cover on right side?

Yes, remove the cover that is in front of the right front wheel. Can't miss it.

The 82 you can usually see the horns from below no need to remove the front splash shield..

On an early car, they may look more like these once you remove the splash panel in front of the wheel (ignore the aftermarket charcoal canister added as a federalization attempt).

Default Thanks

I guess I now know why they are muffled, according to some posts I dug up on the subject. Much appreciated!

In front of wheel well on passenger side, I took my inner wheel well out to fix some tubing and my horn fell off and I ran it over.

I know: Old thread. But I'm reassembling the right front fender on my '82 and I couldn't remember how the horn bracket attached and I found this thread.

And that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.
