We expect the work, the driving and the final alignment to be finished up this week. Hopefully I will be able to take a 1/2 day Wednesday and run back down and exchange vehicles.
There has been a lot of talk about Garage 928 this year and I have largely stayed out of it.
I will say that I have have known Richard for a long time and I consider him a trusted friend.

Yesterday went well with the rears.
Now we just need to focus on ride height in the front. We need to put about 50 miles on it and then make adjustments to the new adjustable front perches. Then alignment.
I am not going to make it to Atlanta today so we will probably make final adjustments together on Saturday.
Going to frenzy with it? Having some probs with the 82, trying to sort before it gets too late!

Parents bought a house 4 hrs away and I need to take a week for the move. First or second week of October is tentative estimate.

What a great adventure this car has been. I went down Saturday to Garage 928 in Alpharetta to pick up the 79. The rears were complete and Richard had driven the car home a couple of days to settle the suspension. While driving the car he noticed a few things seemed kind of wonky.
It turns out I had taken a couple vacuum hoses off while doing the front wiring harness. He quickly identified what was what and hooked it back up. While under the hood he noticed the distributor cap was a bit loose and was able to dial it in and the idle is smoother than ever.
I drove the car for a little over an hour near the shop trying to settle the front but also just having fun. There is a four lane divided hwy close and must have got off and on it 10 times just to feel the acceleration. The Euro S engine is just getting broke in and it seems to be enjoying running more than sitting. The alignment seemed spot on and she rode better than anytime I have owned it. (13 years)
I pulled back up at the shop and I was fired up and fully intended to just drive it back home. Richard said he wasn't happy with the front ride height and asked me to pull it back in. We put it back on the lift and adjusted the front a bit more. I drove it quickly up and down the road for a few and had no noticeable improvement.
We are going to remove everything, play with the original springs (rather than using S4) and reinstall with the S4 adjustable collars.
While a little disappointed I don't have her back I am grateful Richard didn't let me leave with it sitting a bit high. So I have another few days in the Range Rover (his DD and tow vehicle) and hope to swap them out before the long weekend.

Dropped back by Garage 928 Wednesday to pick up the 79. Front and rear ride height was perfect. Because I was technically working I ended up there at 2:00 which is the hottest part of the day.
Richard had the hood up (?) and I saw that he had set the timing and pulled a few spark plugs to check for fowling. The car had been running rich since the rebuild and install. He gave a quick tutorial on spark gap and advised I pull all eight and inspect next time I serviced her.
All of the extras were quite unexpected for a simple assist on a shock job.
We had tons of fun (well,I did) during the project and I am grateful for Richards willingness to help a brotha out.

Driving two hours home with no AC in the heat of a Georgia afternoon seemed daunting but once I turned the key all thoughts of heat quickly disappeared. She ran like a champ the whole way home . She is resting now until fall driving season. Two extra LED fixtures to help show her off.
