Good luck Jim. I too believe the early OBs are on the cusp of appeciation in the classic Porsche world. Your timing is right on. Kudos.

These are really the ultimate 928's here I think... #1 in particular. My personal desire would be to see you restore it in bits so that you can drive it to and from events and we can all enjoy the progress bit by bit live and in person vs only through pics. I know that takes a bit more planning and time, but since you are working on it as budget allows I think it might be possible... Though I don't have any knowledge as to what it would need just to get it back driving well and being reliable again... Perhaps to much to warrant the piece meal approach.Originally Posted by Range Rover

I hope the clients car works out well!
I hear the owner is a real A$$ and not to be trifled with! LOL!

Good Luck with the "new" venture. I hope that you are wildly successful. I am confident that you will have the full support of all of your friends on the list. I am glad that I am one of those friends.

Congratulations and good luck Jim. Passion is the number one ingredient in success.
Verd kind reception all around! Man, if I'm ever strugglin', I could stop by this threads for words of inspriation. Thanks!
Also, any fiscal successes will be rolled back into the business ad infinitum. Gotta save up for that #1 restoration!
I think having #6 in PCA preservation class will help. Those folks are not going to know what hit 'em!
I hope that broad interest in the modern phone dial wheel will draw more people toward 928 Classics, and what it's about.
I have a long-term "under wraps" project that has plans for big exposure, as well.
The idea is to draw people in and get 'em thinking about early 928s again.
And once they connect with the 928 enthusiast groups, they'll be hooked.
Thanks again, everyone.

Dean, I couldn't agree more. Actually, I find working on the early cars to be more enjoyable (read: less stressful), in general. And driving them, they have a unique "feel" to them.Originally Posted by Dean_Fuller

Thanks Eric! I'll be at the farm mid-March. I'm considering doing a "Down of the Farm" party like before, but March can still be damn cold. Not my ideal date, but that's spring break for my kid.Originally Posted by EMan 928
All the best with your new venture. Let me know if you ever need help at the farm.

Randy, I will be sharing all early successes with ya'll. This kind of thing is not something I could do without the RL braintrust. I'm always learnin'.Originally Posted by Randy V

Brad, well lets hope so! This business is hugely based on this forcast. I see it in many ways, and I hope to be a part of making it happen.Originally Posted by tilac999

How long till you progress to the '86.5 as a classic restoration?

I've thought thru this many times, James. And as much as I'd like to do that, my biggest concern is losing the critical "restoration history" needed for a full restoration.Originally Posted by pcar928fan
