Ugh. I feel like someone just punched me in the stomach. A great loss of a friend, of one of the brighter colors of the spectrum of life.
Dadgummit! Gonna have a Wild Turkey shot with a Coors chaser tonight in memory of Greg. Coors, because that was his beer of choice - Wild Turkey because of the great memory of the telling of the story of the Turkey/928 tango Greg and Uncle Billy had on their way home from SITM.
Like others have said, I'd like to offer assistance to family and friends. Also interested in details of the memorial service.
RIP good friend.

Really shocked and saddened by this...Greg was a great friend, to all of us who knew him.
Hope he took his 45 with him and shoots whoever is playing grim reaper lately- been pulling a lot of wrong numbers and clearly needs to be replaced...

I remember talking with Greg about something - don't remember what - and at one point in the conversation I reminded Greg about Murphy (and his law.) Greg's response was "!@#$ Murphy. I screwed his daughter."
So..
I 'spect he did and that he will.

Damnit, RIP Greg. I never met him in person, but we exchanged many PMs and I planned on more than one occasion to visit his shop when I was in Georgia. Now I really regret not following through. He will be very much missed.
Condolences, and best wishes to his family.

Just a "ditto" to what so many have said. Sad day for the loss of a great guy, most helpful 928 owner/servicer, and a real contributor to all of us here on Rennlist.
And, of course, his avatar always made ME smile. Gonna' miss that as well.

A few pictures I had saved of Greg. The one Hans posted of Greg up at Beech Mountain is a classic. Only Greg would pull out a big flippin knife to eat his pizza.

A loss for our community
Wow. I can't believe it.
I was just at his shop right before Thanksgiving. I needed to borrow a tool and he offered to meet me half way, near downtown Atlanta. Instead, I had an afternoon where I could peel away from work and go down to his shop. Well, with e-mail as it was, we got our days mixed up. When I showed up at his shop, instead of sending me away, Greg dropped what he was doing to help me out.
Considering he was in the business to make repairs, I was grateful he let me borrow the tool I needed. I knew he would have gone to the trouble of meeting me, too. That's the kind of person Greg was.
On that day he talked that he was going to retire from working on other people's cars. I was honored that he said he'd continue to work on the cars of his friends, and that group included me. Honestly, apart from seeing him at a SITM, a couple get togethers in Atlanta, and some maintenance I had him perform, we didn't know each other that well. But, I think we all recognize that Greg was a most loving person. I'd venture to say that to Greg, you were a friend by default until he had a reason otherwise.
The one thing that amazed me about Greg, apart from his 928 skill, was his compulsive participation in the forum. I don't know how he did it. He seemed to be in on every discussion...
Selfishly, I'm sad about the loss I have - we all have - without this significant member of our community. Greg, you will be missed.
