where do i get euro distributor caps for less than an absurd price?
Help save this Euro
in an effort to not put a 350 chevy into my euro car, I am looking to get it running again.
anyone know where I can find a set of caps for a good price?
Basically, I am going to price out what it will cost to get this euro motor running smooth and sweet. If it is beyond a certain level, then I am going to rip it out.

sounds good Mark. Iam not even sure that mine are bad, I just figured that plugs and wires as well as cap and rotor are a good place to start. Is there a way to check your cap to see if its good? I mean other than visual cracks and such.

The way to get it running well - inexpensively - does not include changing things that may be just fine...
As the Star Trek computer would say "Does not compute..."
The real way to test these is to get the engine running reasonably well - since I believe you have said it will run briefly already - these aren't on the suspect list yet.
Get it running reliably first - then determine if you have any misses attributable to the distributors/plug wires... You are all over the place here... calm down and be methodical, one step at a time.

Please list what troubleshooting you have done to date in an attempt to get this Euro running. There are many threads here outlining the usual points of failure and how to test. For example, have you verified that the fuel pump works (power to it, relay working)? Are the injectors firing (relay, wiring)? Does the tach bounce when cranking (CPS - although it won't fire at all if the CPS is bad, I think)? Etc.
List out what you have checked, how you tested, and what you observe. Once what you have done/observed is known, others with more knowledge will help - follow the troublshooting advice, and report back the results.
Keep it in a single, focused thread, documenting the steps taken along the way.
It shouldn't take much to get it to *run*; once there, you can assess what else it will take ($$) to make it *run well*.
I am looking forward to the video of this Euro idling in you driveway like your 80 US.
