Roger, that last hose in my pictures was the one I ordered from you last Spring. Just put it in last week. It was in the car one week before destroyed, I was pissed!

Well they really are crap as hoses - but they probably look like a nice nest...

I'm not joking that even if they were provided for free I would never put these on again...

These were made by sewing a large zipper onto an appropriate sized piece of thick vinyl. Original tubes are underneath and will stay like new forever.

Assuming you want to retain originality.

I think the others have said it all- I made some using water hose spray painted black with rubber connector sleeves.

Roger has his specials-they look the part

Those GTS things fall to pieces in no time -seems they do not like heat at all. Utter disgrace that they can even sell stuff like that never mind fit to a state of the art vehicle.

Regards

Fred

We have outdoor mousers (cats) also , but when cold weather hits the mice sneak in when door open, I put a cat out there for 2 nites and 2 mice killed.

We have 4 outside cats (strays) that we are obviously feeding too well! Thanks for the input.... I was worried I had some latent defect that was about to eat up the Christmas budget.

Saw a 911 that mice had completely filled every bit of open space in the engine compartment with dog kibble. Owner had taken it to mechanic because it seemed low on power, Air intake was full too.

Get something better - earlier stock or aftermarket - plenty of option.

Hi Alan,

Your yellow spiral hoses look great. Any suggestions where you got it or what you made it from?

My 93 GTS is falling apart. I know one option is the s4 runners, but kinda want to keep ala GTS theme.

Charlies creation is another great option I should consider.

Thank you for your thoughts.....

Default Mice Avoidance

Had a few run-ins with mice until I started using the "moth-*****-in-old-socks" routine in the engine compartment during winter storage. Worked very well, but you have to remember to take the socks out of the air intake tubes in the spring. Don't ask how I know that

You'll be riding around with the windows down for a while, but there won't be any mouse nests in your heater vent or in your air cleaner, and no chewed wires.

YMMV.

I got them from Bill Sanders (wds928) he ordered some for his and the minimum order was enough for 2 (or more...). He may recall where it came from - this was quite a while ago... 2007

See: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...eferrerid=6055

BTW keep/reuse your GTS hose ends!

That certainly looks like it, probably ~the min length Bill had to buy too. Enough to do multiple cars - probably 3? - Then $$ not so bad. You do need the GTS type ends to make it look neat (and aids the end seals too...)

I added plastic ports for the cambelt cover feeders - Used some snap port fittings from Ace hardware and cut and looped the spiral wire in one spot - works great - clicks on positively.

^^^ As great as the yellow spiral tubes look on your car, for a "stock" look, I think your old ones from back in the day were best. If you ever find them on a shelf somewhere, please let me know.

Those were high temp spiral wire with fiberglass mat covered with neoprene - they looked 100% better than stock - but "stock like". However they were not holding up quite as well as I would have liked - they were still serviceable after a few years but definitely beginning to harden up a little...

http://k-mac-plastics.com/hoses/Neop...lass-2-Ply.htm

The main motivation was when I black powder coated the intake and cam covers. - I wanted some contrast to all black - Decided to do the yellow lettering then... and Bills tubes came right to mind.

That's when I contacted Bill and he still had some... Now these yellow ones are holding up really well - still like new... after much more time on the car.

If whoever makes the yellow ones also does black - get those.

Alan
