Wink X-Pipe with FF CATS or Interior Refurb?

I picked up my 89S4 almost 2 years ago and have been focused on taking care of major mechanical stuff to get her reliable. This includes TB, WP, Porkensiner, MM, TT, Tranny mounts, Fuel and Vacuum line replacements, Sun roof refurb, assorted electrical issues, Ignition wires, rotors, coils, etc. and many other miscellaneous crap. This forum has been incredible in advice along the way.

My favorite "repair" was the RMB which brings a "stupid grin" to my face every time I drive her.

So now I'm faced with what to do next. X-Pipe with Free Flow Cats or start the interior refurb, starting with Dash and Pod recovering. While in the dash, I know I need to repair multiple vacuum wear and tear items. Seats are now showing wear and cracking.

I can't afford to do both but I'm leaning towards more HP and roar. Please weigh in as I have a tendency to do the "responsible" thing.

If you are not having any issues with the exhaust that need attention I would do the interior first. Then concentrate on the exhaust etc. Your cars ext. looks nice from the pic on your avatar so that would get your interior to match.

good luck

x-pipe and HF Cats. Less $$, simple to do. Then you can focus on the interior by itself, w/out interruption for "when will I eventually get to the X"... interior upgrade should not be rushed.

I'd do the interior. If you have to deal with a spouse especially. You may find the exhaust mods make it too loud anyway.

I agree... you can do the interior in stages - it can get expensive and if you have a wife who is questioning the expenditures she (and you) can SEE & FEEL the interior improvements. An X pipe & cats can be pretty damn loud - she'll say "so... it was fast before and you paid HOW MUCH to make it LOUDER!?"

In the end its your call, but in IMHO you'll like the interior improvements more & they'll be more benficial to the value of the car

Interior.

Its where you sit, its where you get your most enjoyment. The Xpipe and Cats will be around when you're ready.

Besides, ladies dont care about exhaust, but they will notice a nice clean crack free dash and supple , comfortable leather seats [and working AC]..

I have to agree with most of the other votes and say interior. You already said that the RMB puts a stupid grin on your face (I share your opinion of that btw), and every time you go anywhere in the car, you will see and appreciate the interior repairs as they progress....

Thx all. I guess I start with the Dash, Pod and Console as they are in the most visible need of refurb. I've got vacuum issues to deal with so A/C can work more efficiently too. Not looking forward to digging into the dash though. Glad Dwayne has led the way.
