ordered up a oil deflector from GB, and a few other tidbits to update my breather system. took the car for a good 10 min drive around town. drove like a normal person, and did not goose it etc. no smoke. i will pull a plug and confirm what i suspect is no oil in the cylinders.

I meant to say "aren't" in my previous post. Glad it's most likely ok.

Jake, If you didnt goose it, accelerate like a madman & corner hard, hit redline at least once while passing up hill at 120 mph.. well... then you didnt drive it like a normal "928" person

Glad to hear your getting this sorted out!!

Well right now i have added a 12AN Canton oil line pre screen inline to the provent.
https://www.cantonracingproducts.com...E-12AN-FEMALE/

im waiting on some AN fittings and an oil spray shield (for under the fill plate). if i can keep the oil from being flung right in to the breather line, the provent should take care of the rest.

Here is what I have for now. A canton racing screen/filter (blue fitting) and a couple other fittings to raise up the column. Then a t-fitting on top (I can plumb in cam towers to the capped off side), then to the provent. Seems to be ok for now.

ID on that hose..maybe...5/8? Not a full -12 (12/16" for those wondering what the -'s are)

12 an or 3/4. Got good results so far. More test drives tonight. I'm thinking of rebuilding the base plate to 16an "1 inch" but more on that when I get to that point. Have some sketches to work on

Report. After a normal drive to the race shop and back 8.2 miles. here is what i noticed.

im still getting what seems to be to much oil in the pro vent. when i took off the top and removed the filter you could see the oil Quickly drain back past the one way valve back to the pan. did the same when i got home. could the vacuum be to great for it to drain on its own, so it fills up to fast? (mind you i DO NOT want it to fill up with anything.

SO. here is my plan. im looking at Kuhn's breather scrubber, but the only way so it would work well is to modify the block off plate and make it a "box" (think stock set up, minus the filler cylinder) with a 16AN line out the top and a fill port on the side. i would cram the inside of that box with cooper scrubbies like i did the old stock basket. that should stop a few things.

Oil spray from getting sucked up.
any oil that does has time to collect and fall out of suspension.
slightly bigger line to the prevent.

thoughts?

The copper scrubbies..will still collect oil thrown at it, then the air will still push it up. You need that Kuhn box that makes it a physical impossibility for oil to get into the oil fill tube.

..I think.

I think you have excessive blowby due to the rings not being properly seated. This is pressurizing the crankcase beyond what the provent can handle and is forcing oil past the rings and guides. The compression is showing normal in the compression test due to the sealing effect of the oil in the cylinders.

This will explain why it is fine until you drive it hard, more load/RPM = more blowby = more oil in the cylinders.

could be that for sure. right now im focusing on physical oil getting flung up in to the breather system, causing oil build up (cant drain fast enough in the prevent). but on the flip side, maybe the exhaust scavenge is creating to much vacuum and not letting the normal amount of oil drain...
