Again thank you, and I am glad it's motivational...
I have another video, and a few more pics......can't post at the moment...my Dropbox is full, I grabbed my Mac laptop, to upload direct , and the keyboard was bowed up, about 1/2"...opened it up, and the battery was swollen....it's an air, so now it looks like a football....don't know what damage occurred until I replace the battery....using my ipad for now....I have no way to access my network hard drive at the moment, which is where all my pics are stored...
Update:
I just set up (1) of my pcs that has been in storage for almost 2years, it's the one I used for all my "pirate" endeavors, (for those who don't know, I am/was also a computer geek, and had a PC shop for the last 20 years)....so this was my go to machine for my music, movies, etc....
I turn it on, and beep code....what the heck....turns out the on board battery is dead, replace, but notice the CPU cooler is crooked...seems that the mount on the motherboard has broken...snapped right off....must have gotten dropped during the move....sheesh...order a replacement, which will require some disassembly, and rigged it with a piece of wire from a bread tie-wrap....been updating all night.....hope to get it on the network today...then I'll have some pics to upload....

Just think of all the fun you will have this spring
My cars have been taking a good bit of my time lately bit like any hobby, they take the back seat when the important stuff comes up. Always fun to return to it when I can!
Keep up the good work!

Thanks guy! Keep posting on yours too!
No photos yet, but I did manage to sneak out and get (1) set of parking brake shoes installed (pain in the ***)...got the rotor back on, and the caliper installed.
I also took a torch to my original and rusted out fuel accumulator and removed the NLA piping that is made of unobtanium....so now I can either go retrofit or original...I think I am going to go with the original setup....since I bought the accumulator and all....

Ok, still don't have my ipad to photo transfer quite worked out....let's try this...
Snuck out to the shop yesterday evening....mounted (1) of my (2) workshop heaters, and decided to pull apart the drivers side brake assembly and replace the ebrake shoes.....OMG! What a rusty mess. I had forgotten, that when I replaced the brake lines, I did not remove the caliper.....1st I soaked everything down in kroil, then I had to use the 18" breaker bar to get the caliper bolts loose...glad I did not have to get out the 2-footer....don't think it would have fit!
I then hammered the rotor all the way around the hub and shoulder, and the rust kept falling out....I used an impact screwdriver to remove the 2 Phillips screws on the rotor hub, came out very easy.
A couple of whacks in strategic locations on the rotor, and it popped off....got a handful of rust and deteriorated parking brake bits....
The parking brake stuff came off easily, and I made a mental note of how I was able to remove it without the rusty springs breaking.

Cleaned it all up, put on the replacement shoes, silicone lubed the once frozen/rusted adjuster, reassembled it all, and stretched the last spring to put in place, and *poof* it turned to rust-dust....crap.....
New springs on order.....once I get them put on, I can install the replacement rotor from Doc Yancey, and then I'll be one step closer.....
Got my buddy who owns a garage rebuilding (1) of my cvs for me, once those are put back in.......
Still lots to do, but she us almost safe enough for a road test!

Awesome work Rob, one step closer When I did mine I found that you need to adjust the brake shoes first. Have the cable backed all the way off. Then the cable at the handle gets adjusted to go up 3 clicks that's it... You will probably have to re adjust the shoes and cables after you drive and use it for abit... the handle is only supposed to move up 3 clicks.... good luck

Useless 928 trivia.....the 928 emergency brake shoes are the same as the 996 and 997
I got lucky when I did mine, I had a set from the 997 lying around. You will be ready to run when Spring arrives......if Spring ever arrives!

3clicks...got it....not looking forward to adjusting them...pain....
I got the shoes from 928i during the 1/2 sale...sweet deal, and they are in excellent shape. It's a good thing Harvey y gave me some spare rotors he had, or I would not have noticed that my old parking brake shoes were just rusty globs of metal. I was raised to use the parking brake, always, especially with a stick, so I would have been freaking when they did not work.....
Messed around a little today, hung my 2nd heater in the shop, about 12' high.....got down off the ladder, and noticed that I am ****-eyed, and it's crooked....gotta straighten it later or it will bug the **** out of me. Gotta pull the wire next....who knows when I'll get to that...gotta get back to work on the upstairs room....
I did sand and paint (with a rattle can) my original fuel hard lines that came off the original accumulator....hope to get the new one put in this week, but probably won't...lots going on....I might just be able to bring her back to SITM this year.....

Don't feel bad Ron all my cars had bad e brake shoes, just make sure the adjusters is free and well lubed before you put them back together. Real easy to adjust just check the rotation of the adjuster before you put the rotor on I think they are both rh thread not left and right like normal drum brakes
