What version of the Rotrex is this referring to? I'm trying to find compressor maps. I'm assuming one of the C38 versions?

So who's cars are we going to use for this side by side?
I'd put my GTS up for this. Greg's 'base' 6.5L stroker, completely stock intake, tuned for 91 octane, headers, and half used-up Sumitomos. , But 1) Anderson's driving mine (I can't freaking drive the thing well enough for such an important comparo), and 2) the gentleman's bet will not exceed $9.28.

Jeff M, you in?

Makes sense since it seems they won't warranty it without the recommended Unicorn Tears.

Also, since Rotrex themselves say not to contact them for repairs/warranty work, do all problems just go through Victor, and then to his supplier I'm assuming? Since these aren't rebuildable units (I know they're supposed to be uber-cool and last forever), what happens if you mess up an oil change, or don't follow the interval? Are you effectively stuck with a $2500 paperweight?

Gotcha, I figured they MUST have an excellent dealer network in that instance.

Ya..they drop shipped to me, had great info on the phone/etc.

If MA OK's Victor to show & tell at SF12, im -sure- Victor could get JR to come out and do a technical show & tell.

Agreed... There is a lot of confusion when you start mixing whp and chp. Conversion factors, dyno differences, etc.

For the record, I believe this kit can make near 400whp. I also believe it is capable of more if you intercool, change fuel pump, injectors, MAF, and all the other stuff.

But at the end of the day, boost is boost. Parasitic loss/efficiency will only account for so much. So I agree with your analysis.

Once there is a Pre/post dyno comparison on a mostly stock setup will we begin to understand how efficient this kit is and it's true power potential.

Good to know. Searched for this info but didn't find it. My apologies. So far no takers, so it might be a moot point.

Sean,

Not immediately relevant to this thread but perhaps of interest- I seem to remember you talking about loss of your s/c oil- have you/voctor read this? May be of interest/relevance-

I am still waiting on the final snouts as well so I can keep from sucking hot air before I do the final butt dyno, but I will say regardless of final HP #'s Victor's kit has transformed the car into something special. Yes it was a great car before but now with this modest/safe boost it just made this street car 20 years younger, and at a great price to boot.

Yup Fred, Saw that a while back. The reservoir is slightly below the inlets on the supercharger so that's not an issue. I just don't like it being above the belt. My leaking issues have been due to bad crush rings in the past, and now I think it's burping its self out the cap under high use.

Dunno for sure though.

As far as going head to head with a GB Stroker car? Don't waste your time, I guarantee you will be whooped. The amount of torque off the line these engines are putting down is astounding, I swear his dyno numbers are fudged to show them less than they actually are. I know this because I maintain one on a regular basis.
