Understood and I'm in 100% agreement. The weight of modern day "performance cars" is appalling.

I hear the "your car is lighter than mine" and "you're on a good tire" excuses all the time.
Somehow it makes them feel better about getting whipped by the most unlikely street racer mobile.

I would think MOST people that want to run a 928 don't know what the hell it is. Maybe figuring it's a 944 variant or 968. I can only imagine the WTF moment when they get left when what they thought was a "sure thing" walked away on them.

Brian, what's the N20 shot on the car? Progressive controller with a small (75ish) wet shot?

Normal is 17/34 jets on 93(ran 11.49 with this setup on hoosier R6's).
Killer setup is 295/45-17 M/T's 28/54 jets, disabled hall sensor and a mix of 103/93.

70 - 150? And I've gotten traffic tickets for 72 in a 65! Indeed, take it to the track and check your life insurance. The interstate is not designed like the autobahn.

Brian, sending you a PM about your setup. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with the thoughts on the cts v wagon. my wife had the srx wagon and it could flat out move!!! but got 16 mpg and had to get something a little more gas sipping for her 25k mile yr.

Would really like to see full model designations vs ambiguous abbreviations in thread titles. Massive aid in searching.

It's a modded 928... based on technology that is 20 years old. True the weight of newer sports cars has gone up. So has the survivability. Compared to equally modded CTS perhaps with modern engine technology?

Accurate comparison is perhaps to this:

We don't get together and build our cars to crash into each other, we go race.
A CTS-V is a factory modded CTS, it doesn't matter if you bought it, built it or stole it, I'll run it. I would love to line up with the V1000, on the street I like my chances.

I don't get this post at all. Why are making excuses for the new car? Two cars line up, one is faster than the other. End of story.
If we want to talk fair comparison, I would like to see how much of Caddy you could buy for the price of the 928 and a Murf kit.

Well I did burn this neon the other day... and I did get smoked by a new Honda Prelude though at a stoplight in my 79' (stock I might add). 1000HP CTS-V? How much does that put down on the rear wheels.
Anybody who mods a car and then brags about beating a stock "off the dealer lot" car shouldn't get too many nods of appreciation. Big deal. It's sounds like these 18 year olds in their 700HP civics. Big deal who cares. Modded cars are a fools game. You're better than the next guy until he mods his with more boost pressure, bigger turbo etc. etc. Ad infinitum.

As far as cost... when the boost kit costs more than the car it's going into, you have your answer before it's begun.
