So I am told...... cough.
You just haven't run up against a modified CTS-V yet
When you get into modfied street CTS-V with 700 horse they will run into the 10's in the 1/4 mile, haven't seen any street trim 928's with 928 motor running into the mid 10 second area yet.CTS-V even being heavy still run strong.

One with nitrous also in the 9's for 1/4mile
Beware of the modified CTS-V's

According to Edmunds: 4222 pounds.

7.28 lbs/bhp assuming 580 bhp.

If you assume 420-ish rwhp and 15% loss on a 3500 pound SC'd 928 you get

7.08 lbs/hp.

What about a 928 using those obscure 3.09 R&P... remember, gears increase engine HP according to some idiots.

Where's the low 11's? Not doubting (much), but if that's true I'll be turning my car into a Supershark for SURE.

FYI, the CTS-V usually pulls around 450ish average to the ground. Depends on the gearbox. I REALLY have a weakness for Wagons, so I'm going to buy a CTS-V Wagon at some point. Just need more garage space! Just like M928 said, they move out a lot better than you would think given their weight.

Brian,
Your car was the first I thought of as being the car that would have a chance
of breaking into the 10's.I remember you posting both of your ET slips with and without the small shot of nitrous in the mid 11 area.it does run great.Have you been to the track much since?

Gretch's car should be closer to, if not exceeding 500 to the rear wheels.

With the upgrades Murphy is sending to him, he will be past 500rwhp for sure.

Last time I went to the local 1/8 mile I wasted all day sweating my ### off and on the only run I launched on the bottle and got a 1.71 60'. I had to let off though because I forgot to reopen the bottle after turning it off after sitting in the staging lanes waiting for the yet another track clean up from a broken rice mobile. The rain started and the day was done. Previous best 60' was a 1.84.

Ok, I give up. I had been thinking about a mid/rear turbo setup, but I'm pretty much convinced to go Stg3 supercharger now.

Not many S3's running that setup are there?

I picked what I thought would be the lowest plausible rwhp to underscore that weight is the enemy and that the 928 is, in this day and age, a lightweight.

All the modern muscle cars need 500+ hp just to drag their corpulent steriod-overdose-design-school carcasses down the road.

However, I do think the CTS-V Wagon is a hoot. I hope enough folks buy one to allow GM to keep making them.

That was my thought when I choose 4th gear, Hacker........ I gave a brief thought to 3rd as I was well in range (70ish), but then decided 4th would be enough.

Murph will be pleased to know I was correct.

DR's X pipe and RMB, hi-flow cats, GT resonators....... think the V driver, got the message? He was about 10 to 20 feet back once I got the jump on him...... I am guessing he was saying to him self
"WTF is in the thing!!?????"
