I've been tapped to be a Social Media Ambassador for the Baltimore Grand Prix, now officially rebadged as the Grand Prix of Baltimore. This means I get all kinds of crazy access, and I'm supposed to be paired with a race team or two. Porsche content: I requested Flying Lizard, but no word yet on whether that request will be filled.

I"ve heard from certain "people" in the downtown area that attendance is way down this year. Hopefully this isn't the end of the race in the city. The city is looking anyway to profit and it may cost those attending a good time. Pray for good weather!!! (if not, its done for Bmore racing). I'll be down for the weekend Courtshark. Maybe will run into each other.

Curious what "people" you've spoken to; I met with the Andretti folks last night and they were pretty pumped about the level of excitement around town, and the attendance/ticket sales to date. To be sure, they are running a Living Social deal that's pretty fantastic (and if anyone wants 3 day VIP access (parking, seats looking right at pit lane/front stretch, food, drinks, etc) let me know; a good friend is also running a great deal) and that should boost sales. They are, of course, working on a very short timeline; they only came on board 3 months ago, and are in great shape. Also, the gentleman I spoke with said they are committed for next year, too. So this is definitely not the end!

The city looks primed, and pedestrian bridges are going in. I'm ready for some city racing!!!

I will follow as well. I went last year and it was guite nice although a little warm in the direct sun. But we had a blast. I too hope it continues. I am going to F1 in November and the schedule for this one just did not work out this year. I will look to be there next year! Meantime I look forwrd to your posts.
