Default SuperCharged 928 on track at Edmonton Indy

I race the Supercharged 928 in the Eursia Cup at the 2012 Edmonton Indy this past weekend. I got T-boned in the Turn 5 Hair pin but was able to finish the race which was a first for this car. It was a hard hit and lots of damage to the hand made wide body rear fenders.

The hit was a bone head move up the inside going into a 180 Deg Hair Pin.In the video you can see me check my mirror before turn in. Nobody even in my neighbour hood so I turn in the car was well setteled I was at the apex when the hit happened. And yes it was a VERY hard hit at the end of a straight away.

After that the steering was at 45 degs going down the main straight so I was pretty much a moving chicane but I finished which is good. The car can be repaired. It will take a skilled guy to fix the wide body rear fenders.

Car was pretty slow actually. I was having fuel issues it kept dying in the corners. So not good for going fast. I opened up the fuel cell to see if I could find the problem and I did. The main fuel pump sucks from a small pot in the center of the fuel cell and there are 2 feeder pumps in the right and left rear corners of the cell. Those 2 feeder pumps fill the pot with fuel, this set up allows you to use all the fuel that is in the tank down to the last drop. The two feeder pumps partially failed during the race (ruptured hoses on both) so the amt of fuel in the can was limited. I will fix the hoses before next race.
I will check the video and let you know my RPM in 5th gear at the end of the front Straight. You'll have to figure out the speed.

Sean
