I've had smoke pour out of my AC head unit. (1984) I've posted a full description of what I have found so far on Dwayne's HVAC compressor relay repair procedure thread. Please check it out and reply if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Bump...
Anybody?
I'm going in... Going to pull the components and do some measurements. I'll check the diode and surrounding components, I'm assuming much will be burnt.

Thanks for the input.
The compressor clutch (coil?) actuated when I applied current. I did use a rather large gauge jumper lead and it didn't get warm. How much current should it draw normally?
