Default 1990 s4 for $5000 near Atlanta

http://bham.craigslist.org/pts/3131036379.html

Just got back from looking at it. Dennis was looking for a cheap one. Almost made me cry. It was someones baby ( probably here awhile ago). Black auto with black and cashmere interior. Started right up. Sits too low in the front. Lots of records but good Lord. If anyone is interested be sure to look under the passenger floor carpet. The wiring has been through the mill and at this point I left. I am just not that brave.

That might be all the audio system installation. May not be as bad as it looks at first.

Ran fine...lots of shack so the MM are shot. There also was an aftermarket alarm and a remote start...and a big stereo with no amp. I have lots more pics if anyone is interested. Pm me your email address. The cross brace bar was a replacement aftermarket from 928 specialists. Also 928 charter member sticker on back glass. A couple more pics for you.

Passenger door inside handle is broken so a NO open from outside. Sunroof fits badly. Sunroof motor cover looks like it was run over. Crushed flat. Driver seat needs cover. Dash and pod all cracked up. A/C no workie. Lots of cut loose wires everywhere...but the car runs. I was just afraid of all the wires myself. For the money it may not be that bad. Needs a complete repaint. Several dings but no real damage. Clean carfax. 120000 miles are real.
stalk for reading computer is very LIMP...almost just hangs there.

Offer 3k. $2k could fix the seats. Then you have an interior on a $5k car. Another $5k and you have the wiring sorted. Then you are to a known bad car point. What could be worse? Perhaps someone should let Dwayne in Ridgecrest know. He can fix anything.

All you'd need for those wires to be even more scary is if they were all brown. Then they'd match the Garter Snakes & you could play Where's Waldo all day long!

Most of those wires are likely alarm and remote-start related. Why you would ever want to remote start a 928 is beyond me, but hey, to each his own. For $4k, you could walk away with a running and driving 90 S4. Not a bad starting point; not the best, but that's a ridiculous amount of car for $5k or less. I say good deal for someone who can handle projects. Cosmetic stuff is cake.

Right now he is stuck on $5000...not a cent less. He sent me a pic last night of the wires he and a friend removed. Said it still starts and run ok. I am passing as I am not that brave but like you said...may not be too bad for someone that wants a airbag car for cheap...still will be $10000 away from a $9000 car...at least. Up 1990 and up rarely show up this cheap that aren't wrecked.

The leaf hanging out from the CE Panel lid is a nice touch.....

Do you have a picture of the fuse box lid open? I am wondering if they gutted the CE panel and just re-ran their own wiring. That is a lot of wires for just a stereo/alarm.....
