We just need to keep bombarding Mike with demands to make more

It would be interesting to know if any other Jerico boxes would fit in the same location with these adaptor pieces for a more "road friendly" transmission.

Yup, the only issue is that some classes require a stock case...

Either way, I want a price for one! And straight cut dog ring is good for me!

In NASA and SCCA the concern is a modified chassis and bodywork. The trans tunnel, wheelwells etc need to be untouched in order to be in the desirable classes such as ST.
I'm not aware of any requirement to use a stock trans case.

Just crawled out from under the car.
Here it is sitting on a jack. It looks like there's ample room!

I was also interested in the ground clearance.

The 928 pinion gear is unique in that it is on the axle CL. Everything else such as Vettes and my GM R&P sit below CL. You can see that offset in the first pics, the pinion is 1.5" below CL, a vette is a little more. That makes low hanging stuff a concern.
it looks like my Jerico will have the same ground clearance! It's amazing this is all actually working out. The idea of the pinion being that far off would usually rule something like this out right away. The GM ring gear is also larger and the pinion too.

Now I have to make the TT housing. Still lots to do!

Well, now I know why I kept my 78 body after I tore all the PC stuff off of it. So I can put in ONE OF THESE!

Mike
That is very cool. As a machinist and a 928 racer I have to say congratulations that is no small accomplishment.

I've broken 4th gear too, what a small world!
After breaking that trans I put in another and broke it right away, I don't even take the cover off to see why anymore.

I'm working on the TT now, that means designing one from scratch but it's going well. I would guess 4 weeks total.

Which direction are you going with the TT? Aluminum tube and stronger center shaft?
