My hat is off to Mike. Kinda knew where he was going when he picked up a couple of my LSDs and read comments about Auto diffs.
It makes perfect sense to only improve that which he felt needed improvement (tranny and prop shaft).
As to half shafts, I'm using custom length HD shafts (pretty much off the shelf) with the big Porsche cages.

The new Torque Tube is finished!
This will bolt to the stock bellhousing.
It looks like shifter linkage is the only thing left. Well exhaust too, it may not fit as well or maybe it will. Some things just have to wait until everything else is done.

Transaxle unit=146 lbs
Torque Tube=34 lbs
The trans has big gears but they have lightening designed into them, I've also done some and shaved off a wee bit.
The TT is all aluminum.
Does anyone know what a stock trans and TT weigh?

Here's a minor detail.
Accesing the TT/bellhousing bolts was never fun so here are some 'Bolt Carriers' that can be tightened from nuts on the outside without any access to the inside. This also provides a nice, full contact pad to the fragile bellhousing.

I've found that flange head bolts allow for blind tightening too. That's what I'll probably do to copy your idea.
Flange head bolts work great for header/manifold bolts. The bolt holds itself in place as soon as it makes full contact, so the nut can be tightened easily from below.
These are the cam bolts I use now.
