That's a lot of car for the money. One should factor in the tremendous amount of time that went into perfecting the setup when considering its true value. That alone is worth big $$$. GLWS!
The Penskes are on the expensive side. And they have been revalved, although they were pretty nice before that. I would love to duplicate it, but with all the work required to adapt the shocks, it's not practical. The streetability of this car really surprised me. I expected a far less supple ride.

Tim,

Sorry to see you're retiring from ORR (not about work, you deserve that). It's been a good run for you and Cheryl, and I wish you the best in what every
you choose to challenge next. Hopefully we'll still see you around the 928 world (I assume you're still keeping the 94 GTS). Hope you don't mind if I add a
couple of photos from the 2011 NORC.

In race trim:

Visiting Bill and I on the "tuning" road:

This is great car you have here, best of luck with the sale. And I hope to see the car and you in the future.

Tim and Cheryl have been an amazing team campaigning The Beast these last several years.
You won't find a better sorted ORR sled. The fact that they have won as many events as they have, with less HP than many of their competitors' cars, is a direct reflection of their skill, preparation, and experience in this form of competition. Tim's offer to share his racing experience with the new owner of The Beast is by itself worth a premium.
Good luck with sale! It would be nice to see this car land in the hands of another capable ownership team.

A roll cage and a stroker motor is too many mods to still be a 928???? OK................I think you've been watching too much NASCAR.

To everyone else....sorry for the interruption, I did some thread clean-up, hope the place looks a bit better now.

Good luck with the sale...an awesome machine with an incredible history!!!!!

I also spent a fair amount of time in the passenger seat of the "Beast".....Bill is totally right.....other than climbing over the cage, it does ride like a normal 928.....well except for the massive power and it seems like its idling ay anything under 80mph..... Tim "might" have barely stretched its legs a tiny bit while I was in it.....and it made around 120mph seem like 60mph in any other 928....

Tim and Cheryl:

Best of luck for the sale! I hope you find a great new home for this beast, and it will continue to achieve great results in ORR.

Thanks for everything you have done for our the 928 community - particularly the unforgettable Sharks at the Lake events! Enjoy your retirement, and please don't be strangers at our events.

PS: I love that sticker "I BRAKE FOR CORVETTES". For some strange reason, it reminds me of my license plate cover...

It sure was.....................long story short, it was Sharks at the Lake 2006....Sharky had a dead fuel pump I couldn't fix in time.....so we drove up in the wifes car.....spent the fun drive riding in the Beast, Cheryls GTS, Charley's GTS and I DROVE Louie Ott's 600whp stroker to finish the day!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was an epic 928 day!!!

I am so jealous that Tim is retiring.....I'll get there in say 16 years

Thanks for all of the kind comments!

The Beast was built for a specific purpose and accomplished 200 mph the first time out and every time there after when asked to. I can't even add up the amount of dyno and test time is on this car. We have more time over 200 than most folks have at 90. We have done minor tweeks over the years and at this point it is pretty much push button 200 mph.

For those that have asked we are not getting out of cars entirely. We will be selling the GTS later in the year and keeping "Junior" our Corvette ZR1 for track days and possibly an occasional ORR event.

We have both reconnected with our competitive shooting and that is taking all of our free time now and that is the main reason for the sale.
