Default where's the cruise control module

I own an 83 928 auto with an inop cruise control. I did the search thing and find out how to fix the module if I could just find the damn thing! I found two electronic boxes tied to gether just under the dead pedal on drivers side and I'm thinking one of them may be the modual? some say it's behind the center consol but nothing there. I just know all you wizards can help a poor old guy out.

It is behind the centre consol/centre ducting. It sits on the tunnel right up near the fire wall. You should be able to access it just by removing the lower carpet covered centre consol sides but it's at buried in there.

Uh.. nothing up there that I can find. no plugs or boxes that I can see.
what are those boxes under the dead pedal? I think one of them may be for central warning or, maybe they both are?

My next project was the cruise control. I pulled it out from under the console. All you need is a phillips to take the console side covers off, then a 7mm to unscrew the mounting bolts that hold in the brain.

I've had the dash out of this car to do a recover and looked everywhare along the tunnel by the firewall and i didn't ever see anythig like was mentioned. I'm fairly certain the car did have cc as the vac servo is still under the fender and I see vacuum at the port. Also has the control on the columb. Any comments about the two modules under the dead pedal. what am I missing?

Irony is that mine is not working either....but as I am fixing my window motor, door locking and console crak this is not on the top of the list (yet...)
Good luck and let me know if you need more pictures.

Thanks for thr pix but it looks nothing like my 83. there is a plug bolted there just in front of the hvac relay rack but thats just for the door chime wich was removed by the PO. What kind of crack are you trying to fix? I'll try starting over again on the cc issue. did you try 12v to the window motor to start with? I had the same window trbl and traced it back to the multi pin plug near the ce panel. I cleaned that and window was good to go.

Are you talking about the silver box just behind the relay bank in your picture?

Modified other poster picture with text on the brain.

Removal can be done with just pulling off the two carpeted panels on either side of the console, as well as passenger side map tray.

Extra pictures attached.
Thanks for the tips about the window motor.
I found the culprit (a broken wire inside the door at the stress point) and have bought a replacement motor because mine, now works but, is in poor shape
Let us know what you find
