Car to get paint soon, stay stock or.......
They started prepping my car today, still much work (stripping) to do before they can get any paint on her.
I had pretty much decided to leave it the stock Meteor Metallic, but there is still a little voice inside my had saying "lets do something cdifferent and get rid of the mid 80's grey".
Now if I decide to change the colour I'm going to have to pay for the additional labor of removing the doors, hood and hatch, and painting all the necessary bits. And since my engine is in, the firewall and inner fender walls will not get painted.
There is the old re-sale concern, but that aside, what do you guts think of these two colors or should I just stay original.

Original.
I'm also planning to do a re-paint after I take care of the mechanicals and will keep her stock paint (Weissgold Metallic). Every one I speak to says "red"...I might as well just put a bullseye on the hood for the cops.

Stock it will be, I came to my senses after reviewing some old photos of her. Plus I don't need to stand out any more than I do.

If it were a lesser car, changes or modifications might be more necessary or acceptable, but once you get to a premium vehicle there are very few things you can do that you will not later regret or de-value the car. The best way to handle a re-paint is to use the same color and pay the money to ensure its done correctly.

I do like the Meteor better than the two alternatives, and the idea of keeping it stock.
I can also understand wanting to make it a bit 'special', especially when investing in a paint job.
Maybe keep the original color but do something a little different with tinted clear or level of gloss, if you want something unique. Or just use the margin that the change would take up to get a new set of wheels...
Edit - read sig, guess the wheels idea doesn't cut it. :-)
