One of these days I'll actually be on tract with you all.

In the meantime, tell me you weren't in the car when you weighed it. Otherwise, I really gotta put mine on a diet. Regardless, looks like if yoiu do some work on those corner numbers you can shave a few more tenths off your times.

I just looked up my weight slips and my car weighed 2610 in 1997. Like me it may a few more pounds now but not many.

If Brian was in the car when it was weighed, the car would be a net 2,500# (maybe a little more if he didn't fatten up last winter and had more than a gallon of fuel on board).

As to your monster, I suspect you've done a few weight reduction procedures that none of us know about. I once heard that you watered down the paint on your car so it wouldn't weigh so much.

I think that was with you in the car. my old speedvision weights were 2910 with a couple of gals of gas. I think you were about 150lbs less than that, (i.e 2610 plus 170 weight = near 2800lbs with driver) no?? OR, was that with driver , the 2610 weight?????

When I ran World Challenge I had to add ballast and the 2610 was no driver and a near empty tank

just checked out the video. cool! I liked the skid pad. If i knew that was you filming, i would have done some drifting for ya! thought we were just doing some lead follow! i purpoosly was staying behind him to see what his line was over the hill (been 10 years) and to just do lead follow. by the way, that straight speed was 95mph, and the turn 8 was under 90 behind that bmw. (normally 134mph/100mph)
the car sounds real mean! awesome. cant wait until you get it all dialed in. I wish we did the rear fenders before you left!! well, next time.

That was the weight wet without driver....a smidge under 1/4 tank...so say 30-36lbs...here is the weight with driver...2927lbs....WITH full bumpers front and rear plus a group 48 battery in the stock location...so an easy 150lbs to remove.....

Here is the video from Race 1 on Sunday...before my power steering died....I didn't start the 2nd race...

Video from Race 1 on Saturday with the Maserati Trofeo racer......Hmm $250K....why does a 420hp paddle shift factory built racer MISS a shift at the race start....I was STUPID enough to line up behind him...then Sean blows past me..I jump on board and so does Rick.....

Fast forward to about 5:20 for the race start...it takes him a couple laps to finally get past me in my new racer....with 5 year old Hoosiers and corded front tires.....Hmmm....it takes $250k to do that....I'd want a refund

I haven't tried to corner weight a 928 with the 928 motor so don't know much about the associated issues. But, it looks like it would be difficult to deal with. How do you get some of that front weight pushed to the rear. And why is the front right so heavy? Was it just a spring perch issue or is there more to it?

One of the first things we thought about was putting in a different pedal assembly that was back considerably and building a cage that allowed the seat to come back too. But, then you need really long arms or custom linkage for the shifter. Not a major problem.

Regardless, look forward to running with you guys this summer, even though I don't look forward to the heat. Laguna and Sears are cooler, but TH is really the track for me at this stage.

I'm not sure why the right rear is so light....having a 50lb battery behind my 210lbs all on the left side doesn't help.....a smaller battery mounted in the right side rear passenger seat is on the list along with cutting off the stock battery box (it might unbolt since its a 79)...that should help....

I do need to bring the rear suspension down quite a bit......its far too high now....it was at 130mm front and 190mm rear when I weighed it...the front is now 95mm and the car handles much better...

The 928 motor is over 100lbs heavier and sits further forward......I'd imagine your car is less than 50% on the nose...vs mine at 53.1%

guys , did you check out my car????

move the battery to the passenger rear seat area. cut out the batterybox. all willl be perfctly balanced. dont worry about front to rear, its a fixed issue with the 928. nothing you can do about it, and its not a problem, actually, its a benefit. helps with turn it, if you have tires that can handle the extra forces. thats why the 928 is prime for 4 square. alll tires the same size.
