Default Inaugural road trip in my '83 S + HeatShield sunshades rock!

Just wanted to share pics from my first shark-powered road trip! Raleigh NC to Cedar Island NC with stops in Morehead City, Beaufort and Atlantic Beach. What a blast! It's been 3 months since I bought it and finally I have a chance to hit the road. What an amazing vehicle...still comfortable, powerful, sexy...after 30 years and 159K miles.

Thanks so much Ray [porschevert] for getting her ready for the trip!

My HeatShield sunshades from Hooked on Cars were delivered just in time and wow! Really impressed with the quality and ease of install.

Just one small issue that was easily fixed...when stopped in traffic two times the temp gauge went all the way into Red, but within seconds traffic began moving and temp decreased quickly. A quick email to Ray...he thought the electric fan might be disconnected...sure enough that was it. I reconnected and good to go.

Poured down rain all the way home...also very pleased with how the Continental ExtemeContact DWS tires performed on puddled, poorly draining highways.

Had the chance to meet Steve [yardpro] for breakfast on Saturday. Great to see you Steve and hopefully I will be back down soon for another drive!

You are going to appreciate those heatshields more and more over the years as they preserve your interior.

Paint looks shiny. A long roadtrip right after you buy the car is a great way to bond with it.

i will say it looked great in person. It sounded really nice also.

The roads down east are really beautiful..

I did see in the third pic that the front spoiler was up against the curb... be careful.. those puppies are not cheap.

Yep! When my dad got out of the car he laughed and said "just in time". Lucky my learning experience didn't hurt the spoiler.

Wow, nice dash!

I'm not one for waving the 928MS flag, but I do have an affinity for their spoiler protection plates..

What did you have the ride height set too? Looks pretty hunkered down there....

Many years ago I had the pleasure of driving each of my 928's from Chicago to California and back. They were great cars for road trips. In the 79 I went across Texas and in west Texas had the cruise control set at 120+ for long periods of time. Still miss those cars.

My poor car has half the miles and looks half as good. Well, 1/4 as good. Makes me want to paint and get this interior to one of our leather guys before I take pictures of it again!

Excellent car!
