upgrades to 928s models 4.7
I'm in way to get 928s 84 , wondering if there is kind soft upgrades can get me 30hp more less I think 4.7 stock usa verson is 234hp , and car feels good but little slow , wondering if are easy tricks like better exhaut, light pulleys, better ignition wires, msds sytem or i don't know something that can be easy replace and will make a difference ?
again I thinking about llight upgrades I do not have the cash or wnat to do any mayor modification to open engine and invest in cams or other high expensive items! thanks

As you can, first make sure timing and fuel mixture are correct and that components are in good shape. A Euro intake could help if you get one used. Later exhaust manifolds can be challenging to install, a better manifold-back exhaust may help you a bit..but I don't think you'll see 30HP unless it is out of time/tune and you bring it back to spec.

Wow, the anti 16V crowd is out in force........
I'll take my 3,000lb 79 over any fat / bloated S4 any day of the week
Then there is my 81, only a hadful of 32V 928's in the world can hang with it.
Which is all a moot point with all the snow on the ground

Im good with my 83S 16V. 4.7 Yes, I have modified it to make more power but it is a great engine in stock form. Simple and easy to work on. No 16V bashing here..
But it is difficult to add that much HP without diving into it. Good tuning and some exhaust changes will get you some, but not 30.
Enjoy it as a great GT car.

I did not buy s4 cause almost 95% are automatics and sorry but I refuse to drive sport car made in 80's auto,,,the s4 manulas are out of budget!!!
the 928 s 84 I have now is manual and thats why I bought it..cuase is rare and condition real good for 30y old car I will lie to tune it right! and do some tricks to get it even better
wondering who sell good headers set for this 928s? or if I buy s4 used headers set will bolt on and work?
a msd ignition box will do anything?
what about fidanza flywheels for 928?

I run an MSD (Digital). I also swapped to a performance coil, which required bypassing resistors to get 12V.
It runs a bit cooler, starts faster...maybe more responsive but a very fine margin there. And that is on a CIS car. If you fuel injection * ignition is running right, there should be less gain to be had.
I assume the Fidanza's claim to fame is that it is lightened...may rev a little quicker but harder to get off the line...not much gain just nudging the performance around a bit. I don't recall, but would bet the TQ rating on your car is more depressing than the HP, and as such the extra mass in the flywheel could be construed to be a good thing. On the street.

hmmm...it's pretty straight forward to add a Murf SC (or equivalent) to that 16v. Result achieves a very affordable, smooth running, reliable ~350hp that is a bit lighter and more agile than an S4 --> of course Porken has the best solution, but I'm biased as part of that cult.

Besides regular breathing mods, (intake/exhaust/euro parts) a supercharger is the biggest, easiest upgrade you can do for big HP... Unless you build a turbo...
NOS is an option too, but filling that bottle all the time would get old I would think... Ask Brett from across the pond...
If you have to pass smog laws, the SC option is probably the easiest to convert back and forth. If we ever move out of Cali, I see a SC in my future...
