Los Angeles meet/ drive Saturday morning
So I'll be back home this weekend, I'd love to take the Pcar up for a gentle but spirited drive up angeles crest on Saturday morning (i dont want any tickets nor accidents, nor anyone trying to to "race")
I figure we can meet at the Sport Chalet in La Canada on the bottom of the mountain on foothill/ACH at around 9am and then go up to newcomb's ranch as a turn around point, then head back down.
I think it'll be a good opportunity for those in/around LA to meet up..
who's in??

Ugh, the 1 in 8 chance of the wife being on call and she's on weekend call next weekend. Raincheck for me!

I'm fighting the flu. If I am better by Friday, count me in for Saturday.

For those -really- local to this drive, there's an informal parking-lot show-off in the parking lot of the theaters at Verdugo and the top of the 2 freeway, starting around 6AM. They are usually done by 8am or when more businesses open and they want the space for customers. There's a bagel and coffee place there for morning reinforcement. It's a few miles west and a little bit south of the Sport Chalet 9am gathering spot.
The Hill Street Cafe is on the south side of Foothill, right at the intersection of Foothill and Angeles Crest Highway. Good spot for early breakfast pre-run, or later on the return end.
If I can get my early-morning chores taken care of, I'll try to make at least one of those pre-drive locations. I'll be the white-haired guy.

Also may have time for a mini alignment clinic when we are done if anyone is interested.

There's a MaxJax lift in my garage, and one or two precision metric sledgehammers if you want to do undercar stuff here. I don't have a welder to install another exhaust bung though.

Participants, if you don't have one already. grab a pair of decent FRS-type mini walkie-talkies for the ride. There is no cell service once we get above about 3000ft on Angeles Crest Highway, so the little radios are great for keeping a group "together" without bunching up. Channel 9, tone 28. FWIW, I like the Cobra radios over the Midlands and other lesser brands. Not a requirement, just adds to the enjoyment.
