It is manual in that you position the glass yourself - not electric adjustable from in the car.
For most of us once the glass is positioned it never gets moved again.
The motors are left out and the correct manual adjustment base screwed in place. Then manual adjust mirrors are used.

IIRC, the 90-91's also had flag mirrors... so they should be the same?
I have been told it takes a lot of ingenuity/trial & error to figure which new wire performs the same function as the old wire (colors are different).
I left mine manual for that very reason...

It is actually possible to simply swap the motors from the S4 Flags over to the Aeros to maintian the same connectors. (Again this doesn't work on pre S4 cars - the motors & attach mechanisms are very different mechanically & electrically. I know they look the same - under the skin they are not.

I guess I am going to have to retire in order to start getting with all of these projects that keep cropping up for me to consider.
Actually, I have been watching this thread from early this morning and have had just about the same thought as suggested herein, and that is why not work up the tooling, molds, or whatever, for duplicating the Aero mirror bodies, but do it with the flag mirror bottom on them so they will simply mate up to the flag mirror bases. Then why not reshape the innards of the flag mirror so if will fit into the aero body and then stick the aero shape mirrors on them.
I think the bodies could be made of fiberglass, carbon fiber, or even investment cast in aluminum. The molds would be just about the same for use with any of those materials.
I have two sets of Aero mirrors I have accumulated for my projects off eBay, and I have a small pile of flag mirrors that I have accumulated the same way, but I don't remember why. I think I could use any of that to help work up the molds; but it is going to be a while before I take this on as a project because I know what the need is for the WW liners that I need to get finished, and soon, I hope.
Thanks for thinking of me.

Spent most of yesterday putting together some aero mirror kits.
Currently the 928 aero mirror kit sells from us for $598. Includes everything but the mirrors.
Go figure they supply an aero mirror kit with no mirrors.
The mirrors add another $180 to the price. So slightly less than $800.
I have put together a manual set for about $600 if any one is interested. All Porsche parts.
I am working on the set of 968 mirrors which are electric and I sell for $511 and they need the two 928 bases and gaskets. They still come complete with the mirrors. That adds about $100 but $200 cheaper than the 928 set.
I think Porsche will go the same way on all sets soon so grab them while you can.

All this talk made me curious about the set of mirrors I bought for the GT a few years ago but never quite got around to installing . For whatever it's worth, here's the parts list and some pics of all the bits. Holler if anyone ever needs detail pics of any pieces....

Very nice Rob. Never use the power function on the current mirrors on the GTS, so I just went ahead and ordered a manual set from Rog. Less to go wrong, a little less $$, and a little less wiring running through Just Peachy. T

When I got mine all installed and was ready to put the mirrors on, both my mirrors had the 965 part number, apparently they were for the RSAmerica. Found that odd so Roger added those to his list of manual parts he can get.
