Gentlemen,
I am trying to sell a set of wheels and tires locally, and a guy asked me if they would fit on his 928. I haven't a clue so thought I'd defer to the experts.
Porsche rims 944.362.112.00 sized 6JX16 with offset ET52
Porsche rims 944.362.116.00 sized 8JX16 with offset ET52
Thanks in advance,
Laker

I thought any of the late 944 wheels would work on a 928... could be wrong. A 928 NEVER had 6" X 16" wheels up front though. The only ones that *MIGHT* have been 6" were the 15" phone dials on the 78-80 auto's. Not even sure they weren't 7" front.
That would be far to little wheel for a 928 frankly.
The wider you can go up front the better and 8" was the widest from the factory, but I know folks who have 9" and even 10" up front and up to 11" out back...
I would not recommend these wheels on a 928, but they are much prettier than most wheels that ever shipped on a 928 (save the CUP I and maybe CUP II wheel).

the 6 inch rim is too narrow for a 928, best to use a 7.5 or 8 inch rim
and the 16 inch diameter will be hard to find tires for
the 16 in. rims offset will fit a 928 front and rear stock was ET65

Thanks James & Mrmerlin, Pretty, although not as pretty as James' avatar.
They are mounted with Continental all-season, so he may be looking at them purely for winter beaters.
I will pass your post along.
Here's how they looked on my 964
Thanks again

The front 6" rims will fit, but they are below the optimum offset of 65mm, and they are really too narrow. The original wheels were 7 x 16 ET 65.
Early cars had 7 x 16 rims front and rear, S4's had 7 x 16 front and 8 x 16 rears. GT's and GTS's went to other style wheels (Cups etc) with larger front and rears again.
HTH
Edit: got swamped in the frenzy of replies.

I had those on my 85 for a while, many many years ago.
They drove fine (simple street driving). However, IIRC I ran into an issue getting the center caps fitted over the front wheel bearing cap.
