Default Interior color code

I wonder which other avenues are there to obtain the correct interior color code for my 91. There is no sticker, or better said the previous owner for some bizarre reason removed it from the trunk location as the evidence from its removal are still there

My odd ball 928 supposedly had linen interior, supposedly the Exclusive batch that went to Japan were all the same interior wise. So I thought it was Linen. It turns out its not. It maybe marble gray, but with the carrara gray in play the mystery deepens. Its definitely not classic gray.

Any other way to get the colour code really quick?

There are no interior color codes. You need to buy a dealer color brochure for that year model to help identify the color. Check eBay as a source.

Some colors were only offered in certain years. Here's a color chart from Magic Mender web site...

Yes there are in option sticker. See for example my signature. If option sticker is not available then dealer should be able to dig uo same info from Porsche systems or certificate from factory at least has that info.

When you say 'option sticker' you must mean option codes on the 'build sticker'. That paper printout/sticker the factory left under the carpeting in the cargo area?

I see your signature with codes. Those codes don't match the interior color part numbers in the PET. And I have never seen interior colors on the build codes sticker.

http://www.928.org.uk/mambo/index.ph...ask=view&id=82

Where can I find a code conversion table to match the codes in the PET?

Someone show me their build sticker with the interior color code.

Sticker has interior color code right next to paint code at same line. Code is for entire interior color combination. There is no direct link between it and color codes for individual parts in PET. For example MX means everything what was available as color coded part (meaning not black) is classic grey. Some other codes had different color dash, seats and carpets. For example classic grey dash was available with light grey seats and carpers and this combunation has some other code in sticker. For each MY there were around dozen possibilities available. Unfortunatelly there doesn't seem to be any online source for these codes.

OK, interior color build codes exist, but codes were encrypted for manufacturing purposes.

Apart from the option sticker in the trunk location, I have an exact same sticker on page 4 of my "Garantie & Wartung" (service stamp) book (as per the full set of documents that came with the car when I bought it from the PO in Germany).

Default Resurrection

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I am having a ridiculously hard time finding a list of interior color codes for my car (86) and didnt know if we had a list of all color codes by year. Ideally this may include a swatch but I dont expect that 30 years later. Anybody know where one could locate this?

I want to conduct an experiment- if you have a GTS, please post the 2 digit interior color code from your VIN sticker (and don't tell me what color the car is).

I have a 1988 S4. Does anyone know what interior code "SX" is? I think it may be dark blue, but would like to be sure.

There's a guy who backtracked the color codes for 968s and they seem to jibe with the GTS'. (https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...a-picture.html)

Don't know if that works for older 928s but using his chart "SX" = Marine Blue - Lthtte/Leather
