Default Carbon build up in the injector holes.

Injectors have been removed and sent out for cleaning, I see a lot of carbon inside
the injector holes on the intake, whats the best way to remove the carbon ?

Is it a problem?

Big chunks and flakes of it?

GM makes a top end cleaner that really works, get it at any dealer.
This will really start some ****; I've used Acetone for years in my motorcycles, and hot rod motors with carbs. I mix 3ozs. of acetone to 10 gallons of gasoline. I always use preminum gas. Plus Marvel Mystery Oil. When I pull a Hrley motor apart the heads look new, never any build up, same with the blower motor in the "Polecat"

I've never used it in an engine with fuel injection, don't know what the acetone would do to seals, and it will eat plastic.

There are a few good intake cleaning "systems", like BG, that take more equipment and maybe skill than the average DIY has. There are also some 'ancient rites of passage' solutions like Marvel Mystery Oil that don't do a heck of a lot for that buildup. It takes some serious shock or solvent to get that stuff loose enough for the motor to pass it. Shock like thermal shock with water mist passed through a hot engine wil dislodge some carbon deposits on intake valves and in chambers. It's hit or miss on the areas around the injectors above the valve, since they don't get that hot when the engine is running normally. Marvel Mystery Oil is a light mineral oil with detergent added, and generally does about the same as ATF in most auto systems when added to oil or gas.
