Hi
I just got a G28 10 trans, I want to install it to my 90 S4 Auto(with PSD), Is there any possible I mod G28 10 trans for a G28 55 PSD trans? Can I use the Auto PSD(LSD) parts on G 28 10?
Many thanks!

In my opinion not possible , the G10 case does not have the mounting points for the psd hardware , so you would have to find a way to create the mounting points . This would involve welding on the aluminium case and thus would eventually create to much distortion .
You could certainly use a standard locking diff with the g10 and remove sell the psd components .

But it's not the recommended course of action.

Yes looked at those options , but Machinists and engineers with a lot more experience than me decided that it would not work due to the amount distortion that would be involved .
DIdnt want to try after all the negative advice .

Couple of questions here. What if he bought a G28 55 shell & moved over the internals? What all would he be missing?
Is this Getrag Case a 262G which Bimmer followers & Getrag call a 265/5? I realize the 928 version has unique Borg Warner gears & was not an off the shelf Getrag.
Must say I am a tad surprised @ the lack of 5 speed options available thru swaps & bellhousing Mods for a marque so richly supported in terms of other current improvements?

Damon,
I will almost guarentee there are no spare G55 empty cases for purchase.
If he already had one then yes swapping the guts is possible. But reshimming will be a pita.

Not really surprising considering where 928 gearbox is located etc. 928 drivetrain is not your average engine/clutch/gearbox package and its not Getrag gearbox.
