Question, if soooooooo many of us love the Speed Yellow 928, why didn't all those original owners ordering 928s back in '94 & '95 love the color too so there would be more of them out there? Or does everyone love it now simply because its so rare perhaps??

Tastes change. Just like mutton chops seemed like a good idea at the time.

Prolly b/c most of the 94-95 models were ordered as dealer stock and not customer ordered like this one. Only a handful of the last few GTSs were customer ordered and since most were for dealer stock and b/c they weren't selling well were ordered in "sellable" colors. It's also the reason most have few additional options and only a few have manual transmissions......

yeah I thought of that possibility too, confirmation of not a good sign if the dealers were having to order the majority of them for such a high end car.

Or you could mean illusive because the Latin word illus (mocked) could describe the owner taunting us with the rare showings and then running away thus mocking our lust for clear pictures of this car.

Just sayin'
Thanks, Jeff. You saved me 4 minutes of typing.

Why does that bad picture make me think of bigfoot sightings?

I have seen more convincing pictures of a chupacabra.

I think this might be a hoax.

Yes it very well could be. Perhaps that is why Chuck subconsciously typed illusive.
When that car does finally come on the market, it will be interesting to see what the bidding war turns into.

Ah yes. Qatar (your avatar)! Too bad the dude hit a rock in the road and tore the oil pan off the car or it would be IN MY GARAGE RIGHT NOW!!!!

I'd be out on this one though. Much as I'd love to have it, I already have the best GTS in the world (at least in my opinion....). My next "keeper" will be another SL55 or something I've not had yet; RS5 convertible, SL63 or a DBS convertible......

Awesome sighting and a great story. Speed Yellow 968s are rare beasts as well with only 10 coupes and 10 cabs produced for North America. It is a great color.

there has to be a way to locate the owner........... I'd guess 1 day of footwork at the Porsche dealers in Houston or well known Porsche repair shops......someone MUST know the owner....they probably won't give out his contact info, but they might call or email him with your contact info...

I agree its a super cool car.....is it a 5 speed......hmmm 5 speed with some type of custom interior would be sweet.....

The green 94 in Utah, PearlGlanz and this one are on the short "list" where did I leave that lottery ticket
