Well it's been a busy weekend. The weather has not cooperated either. Unbelievable snow this weekend! To early..
I was able to squeeze in some time on the 928. But need the bolts that hold the alternator and the smog pump. Anyone know where these can be purchased asap? Mine are bent beyond use...

Wow, Settin! Awesome work so far, and great job taking pics and documenting this all. I plan to tear into mine in the very near future, and will probably be referencing this thread among many others. Plus, you are close enough that I may even bother you with a question or two, lol.

nice job on the new belt install interesting how the dipstick tube and the oil return line are still connected as the front cover usually cant be removed with them in place.
Belt tension looks about right for a new belt,
when your done your 1500 miles tension should be set to the low side of the window.
I suggest to use STP to fill the tensioner the STP takes longer to leak out use a visene bottle to fill it remove both bleeders to fill the tensioner.
Also not sure here but if you didnt already do this i would .
Replace the thermostat
and the rear seal
and O ring.
Also replace the heater control valve
and the short hose
and the coolant bottle cap.
2 gallons of Z05 Zerex coolant
and 2 gallons of distilled water from the supermarket
Good luck on your project

Burning Brakes
Settin and Johnny (and anyone else who might be interested), I just my first TB&WP job. When preparing (extensively) I could not find a detailed procedural write-up for the 16V. So, I have created one for the 16V OB a la Dwayne, newbie rated with pics. It's ready to post. I'm just waiting to hear back from the moderator about how best to upload it because it is too big (12MB). If you PM me with your e-mail address I can send the pdf to you, or you can wait for it to be posted (likely today or tomorrow).

Thanks, John! I'm glad you liked it.
Setting03, PM sent back, you can download it on this forum ('16V OB Timing Belt and Water Pump procedure with pics').

I/WE appreciate it Doug.
Well my TB/WP is finally done .
It was a great experience and I learned alot, the main problems I had was not being prepared and not thuroughly knowing the procedure before hand. Alot of back and forth with the manual, the write ups and suggestions. Also life delays ( family, work etc / the usual ). It was all worth it and now I have a renewed confidence on working on the Shark.
I want to thank you all and thank rennlist for such a platform to make this all possible.
NOW ON TO THE NEXT MOUNTAIN:
Not sure to make a new topic regarding me loosing 5th gear.. It would pop out when I would release the gas on the highway and now it won't let me back in at all. Even when parked in nuetral and car running or not. I installed a new coupler and I have a short shifter now. No change.
