Default Intermittent wiper INOP

So my intermittent wipers stopped working. Works fine on all settings but when I put the lever down to intermittent setting -- wiper doesn't do anything. The dial under the pod used to work and adjust the intermittent nicely.

Which is likely failure; the dial under the pod? If so, any test before replacement?

Is intermittent under it's own relay or would wipers not be working at all if it was a relay?

Thanks

Does the schematic show a relay? If so, replace.

The relay for intemittent wipers is XIX. Check the connections at the delay potentiometer.

Pod was recently out by shop. Good point, it could be the connection. Can I get to it by removing the bottom cover of the pod?

Just put in the VW style relay from Roger. Cures all ills.

pull the wires off the potentiometer and see if it has continuity if so,
then replace the relay

Got around to it today. Low and behold, one of the connectors fell off. Kinda of a PITA to get it back on but now it's on and working perfectly. Love easy fixes like this.
