I would term this "minimally invasive."

As for the next location... if we shoot for next year, i believe the next Porsche Parade is scheduled to be in Traverse City, Michigan. Might be cool to have 50+ 928's show up at the parade? Just a thought... and probably a bit closer for Malcolm.

If you want to do it in less than a year from now, someone has a lot of work ahead of them. I will gladly share all of the documentation and planning that we did for both the 2009 and 2012 OCIC's. But first someone needs to commit to leading this task and have multiple volunteers to assist. The outcome is well worth the effort, but don't be fooled, it's a lot of effort. If it were done in conjunction with Parade, maybe just maybe, it could be a part of Parade, with some provision for non PCA member/owners.
Someone ready to commit?

In all seriousness, I don't know the first thing about what it would take to have our event here in Vegas. Although there are a couple of other 928 owners here, I've never seen them at any of our other gatherings.
This is something that I would have to do alone, untill I could get some help. I'm not trying to weasel out, Just don't know how much time and work goes into something like this.
Here's the truth about me going to Canada. Because I'm a Hells Angel, I'm not welcome in Canada, I would be turned away at the border if I were required to show my passport. I'm a undesirable! And I'm listed in the NCIC as a member. Though I've never been charged or convicted of a crime. It is what it is.
Andrew, prolly has the best option for pulling this off in the shortest time span. It doesn't matter where it's held next time I'll try to be there, but Canada is out for me.

They put together Sharks in Hell every year without skipping a beat!
PS. This is meant not to take anything away from organizers of past OCIC events. Standing up and following thru is success!

If anyone could pull it off in short order, it's AO and the D-town gang. Seriously.

Our Hell event is in 2 weeks and I will bring it up with the group to see if they want to try and pull it off. It takes more than just a desire to make it happen. It would take a lot of work, but with enough planning I think we can do it. At least it doesn't conflict with SITM or my wedding anniversary.
I know many of the local PCA guys and have been writing a 928 column for the monthly publication, the P4. It could be really cool, and Traverse City is an awesome location.
Stay tuned.
And Polecat... you're welcome in Detroit. You can throw rocks across the Detroit River at Canada and thumb your nose if'n you want. Like you said, it is what it is.

Hah! You're not last, been swamped since we got back but finally got our pic's uploaded here:

Many thanks to Roger and the crew who put this together, it is a huge effort and we had a terrific time. Thanks!!
The trip out was great-- we toured with the PacNW PCA group from Seattle to SLC, through Idaho via McCall and Sun Valley-- but the trip back was epic! We took roughly the same route that Malcom did past Crazy Horse and then headed north and west mostly on state highways. We picked up US2 in Montana, and then SR20 across northern WA. Except for 50 miles of seriously FU'ed traffic through Glacier Park, the rest was terrific.
I agree that holding OCIC near the PCA Parade would be fun. We went to the Parade this year for a few days and had a good time. There were only three or four 928's there and it is a different kind of group, but we met a lot of great folks. And driving with a bunch of 911's was fun, I always thought that the fancy new 911's would have us in the twisty bits-- and I think they were a little surprised also.

WOW! I finally made it to the end of all the comments and pics!!
Just wanted to thank everyone again for a really fantastic first OCIC!! I had about as much fun as a guy on crutches can have in two days with all the people, products and amazing looking cars!
It is a real honor to be a part of a community that is so fantastic about supporting one another at the same time that everyone is learning and just having a great time being together. I hope that I will be able to make it to the next one, but I have a lot of great memories of a great time with a bunch new friends to hold me until that happens!
