Default California Widshield Mounts?

Interesting - on a recent business trip to California, I became aware that windshield-mounted devices, even GPSes, are illegal there. How do you Californains deal with that?

Most ignore it, or place it all the way over to the left, so it is not so visible.:-) I have dark tint on the top of my windshield, and a mount is not even visible from outside - plus I like the gps high up.

Put it on ignore?

Kind of like the requirement for front license plates.

Ignore it. Along with the front plate requirement, and the speed limit when conditions permit.

I wonder if CA has a law against this too:

I ignore it H. Every time I get stopped, they mention it. But they do not stop you JUST for that. Well, normally.

I have mounts that attach to the middle vents. I imagine I will need to start stocking up on replacement vents at 928 Intl soon. But FWIW, after I moved it there I like the position better.

Then they REQUIRE that your toll road transponder be affixed to the windshield....... these kinds of things are used as an EXCUSE to pull you over so they can look for other violations like DUI , no license, etc. something juicy with a big fine.......

I can't imagine any scenario that would compel me to move to that god forsaken socialist state! Amazingg what CA thinks to regulate (and NY isn't much different - I lived there for almost 7 years).

Its a political form of population control. The more people are scared of moving to CA, the less congestion and overcrowding we'll have here in paradise...
