Default Recommended coolant for 928GTS?

Hi!

Have searched for this but cannot find it if it is anywhere...

I have asked Porsche GB and they tell me based not just on my model (928 GTS) but the VIN number that the coolant they recommend is their part number: 00004330103. The local Porsche dealer tells me that this is what is used for the latest 911s and that they have never put this in the older cars (possibly because it costs U.K. £8.91 per litre?!) and do not recommend it. The manual simply says the coolant must be suitable for alloy engines and check with the Porsche dealer for specifics.

I'd be grateful to know the experience/opinion/advice from this forum. Any suggestions could you please let me have specs rather than just a brand since this might not be available or might be different, here in the UK.

Many thanks.

Many of us are using Zerex GL05 (low phospate) cut with distilled water.

I've always used the silicate-free phosphate-free orange stuff. No matter who makes it.

He's still a non-Member and thus does not have access to advanced search features.

Only paid Members can do advanced searches of the forums.

When you see non-Members complaining about the search function, that's why.

My local Napa has phosphate free coolant, 1.5 liters concentrate for about $13 US. Can't remeber the brand though, but specifies for Audi, Porsche, VW on the label. I've read on the 944 forum that Prestone Extended Life is also phosphate free but at a much more reasonable price, close to what a regular gallon of coolant costs.

I only use grain alcohol and rainwater. This way I don't sap and impurify all of my precious bodily fluids

Anything will work.....old school green stuff of the newer orange long life stuff.....

distilled water is a good idea.....I ran distilled water and orange stuff (dex cool?) in my S4....I ran lower % than usual, since it gets REALLY hot here and not that cold....so I ran about 25% coolant and the rest water......enough freeze protection for me & a bit more cooling ability....

Oh. My bad. Crow tastes good.

My don't we put non-paying members on the crack addiction plan? Give them five-or-so free searches before you cut'em off.
