Dan- I don't think the threads are any more subject to dirt than the old ones. One reason for my change was a free-spinning adjustment collar on an old shock.

Very very nice setup, if I didn't already have the devek 600/400 Koni kit on my car I'd buy these in a hot minute.

I have boge sport with eibachs, and lovin' it. But when the boge sports go bad, this might be the way to go.

Creative work around for the angled mount. Does it change the geometry of the weissach suspension any? Maybe it's the compressed picture on my BB, but your drop link looks bent.

It's not supposed to change the geometry, but beyond my ability to calculate. You are correct, the link is bent. Just noticed it today, time to order some Ott links...

I have adjustable QA-1 shocks on my hot rod Nova. They seem to work adequately, for that application. I'd sure not try to go around corners very fast, in that hot rod, so I can't speak to the real effectiveness of them.

If you talk to any of the people that really know shocks and have shock dynos, they almost universally refer to the QA-1 shocks as "Sears Red Riders with external threads and *****."

Therefore, I pretty much dismissed this, as an option.

They are cheap, however.
