I see no end in sight.

However, I will replace my DD A3 in a couple years with a TTS.

Owned a 'goose back in the day. Interesting car to arrive in. Tremendously expenseive even then for routine parts and pieces, more so now. "Inconvenient" to work on is an understatement. Might be better now that I have a lift. The gas-braised mild steel tube frame is interesting but not easily repaired if damaged at all. And the frame rusts from the inside out thanks to very poor original-assembly hygiene. Interior parts and exterior lighting from the Fiat catalog.

Pretty astounding performance for the day, except for the sometimes picky gearbox that had no tolerance for even casual abuse. Lots of easy performance upgrades, but no room for real exhaust inside the engine cage/rear frame.

As far as car quality and driving enjoyment, the Pantera was a giant leap forward. For rarity, the Mangusta is possibly a better choice.

Hmmmmmm...
After my 4th 928, an '89 GT, I went through a few cars:
Couple of NSX's, 930 Turbo, 993, 993turbo, '72 RSR clone with 3.2, a few Ferraris....
Decided to try a 928 again early 2011. Purchased a Euro S and broke the TB. Finally getting sorted out road worthy again.
Next car???
My brother wants to sell his Aston Martin Vanquish. One of the best looking cars ever.... Drove it for a few days and didn't like the manual paddle shift. For the price, the Maserati is a bargain..... Ferrari Mondial as well... Early 996tt's are bargains....
Sh...t. Just want to get my 928 fully sorted....
I have to get off the internet car forums..

Andy,

An R8 would be a BIG STEP DOWN for you! Well, I guess the V10 would be a bit of a step up but the V8 would not cut it! Your GTS is WAY PRETTIER than an R8 and at least of equal comfort and quality and while I didn't drive/ride in your GTS, I suspect you are making more power and thus faster than the V8 R8! I have driven one...very nice...nothing special... WAY SMALL interior, well the seating area is just fine, the problem is that is ALL THERE IS!

Keep your GTS and wait till you can get at least a nice V10 R8...or better yet get the real thing...Lambo Gallardo!

The 360 in my garage. ;-)

..of course I still have my 928. Can't bring myself to sell her. :-) She can now relax in true retirement.

Curt,

Good choice! I think the 360 (along w/ the 512bbi) is one of the best looking of the modern Ferrari's! Love them! I want to get an F1 Spider at some point!!

I like the looks of the R8 also.
Even the V8 tested
Road tests claim 0-60 in 4.0 sec area.
1/4 mile 12.5 and top speed of est 187mph with 6 speed
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...8/viewall.html
With more power better off with something all wheel drive.
996TT,997TT,Audi R8,Nissan GT-R etc
Dyno numbers are great to show but ET is what counts.
