My 2 cents worth before it becomes a flame war....

Mobil 1 15W50

I lapped (not raced) many years with that and had no issues.

I have had customers whose engines lasted 300,000 -400,000 miles on regular old dino juice oil....nothing special. Just what Porsche designed the engine to use. Problem is the additive packages have changed. Doug Hillary did extensive testing of the oil in his S-4 and is well worth researching his thread....I use Redline Racing in the old very brown 1980 because it get seriously abused on a regular basis and sees high temps.

I use Valvoline VR1, and add a pint of BG MOA, I do not worry about it in my 928.
I use a Mobil one 15W50 in the Corvette due to the engine oil lubricated gears in the blower, but I suspect that the dino oil would be just fine, I change it every 3,000 miles.

Any of you guys use Joe Gibbs Hot Rod Oil? I've been using the 15w-50 in my engine with improperly made cams (long story, but the short version is non-hardened flat tappet cams hitting against hardened rockers) for about 40k miles and the cams are pretty much fine still (despite my being told by people who know not to expect more than 30k).
