I have had several people ask me to see the interior of this shark, since a big part of the option was the leather interior. So I thought I would put up some now since its dropped twenty degrees in like 15 minutes. I went in there with all my winter clothing I had and snapped some pics

Good looking car Paul. Man, you made a good find. User Sharkskin has a website with writeups on most of the maintenance items you are likely to run in to. I have done almost all of them on my 79 and it is good for years to come.

That 911 is also beautifull.

It's in pretty good condition! Make sure you keep that leather soft and out of the sun - particularly the dashboard!

You might want to consider getting some sun shades or a car cover that goes over all windows when parked in the sun.

Nicole should the car have to go outside I have my old 996 GT3 car cover I am hoping will work.

Yea I have some NICE leather treatment. THose of you near Vegas might know the Gloss-it.com company.
I use most of their products. From paint correction to tire care, I like their stuff.

The only thing on the inside I would like to do is replace the gear shifter and boot. Dwayne said there is a short shifter for this thing. I have to admit, its like rowing a boat with the long throws.

Today I replaced all the windshield wipers and replenished the wiper fluid in both tanks. The one next to
the radiator filler seems to leak.

Oh and today I found out the alternator gauge doesnt work.

Next is Oil if i can find Mobil 15-50 some where. The AC should be fixed tomorrow I hope.

The reservoir next to the bumper is the intensive washer reservoir. It is supposed to be filled with special silicone remover that you can get from your friendly 928 parts supplier or the Porsche dealer.

Quite often, the check valves of the washer hoses inside the hood get stuck. When that happens, you can try to clean or replace them. But it's a good idea to research the routing (there are diagrams posted online), and if you replace the hoses, you can find the proper lengths in PET. If you do it wrong, you'll never get them back into the hood. Ask me how I know...

Where's the dash badge?

Bronto if you look at the pic where I took from the very rear that goes to the front seats you can see the badge on the center console. This vehicle is #81.

Nichole its so cool to hear a woman talk technical. Is the diagram in the workshop manual? I think what you said is
correct, something much be stuck because the reservoir looks good yet the thing was leaking bug cleaner washer fluid.

The high intensity tank is supposed to have what in it??? Silicon remover? What does that do?

The dash badge came in an envelope in the glove compartment. Lots of 1st owners never installed them.

Silicone remover is supposedly much stronger for removing bugs from the windshield. Picture driving on the Autobahn for a few hours, and being bombarded with low flying bugs. The regular washer fluid doesn't do much...

For the length of the individual hoses (and which length goes where), check PET.

You can order the Silicone Remover from any Porsche parts supplier; part number is 928.628.931.00. Cost is somewhere between $15 and $20 for a 1L bottle.

Nice stuff. I have some issues with my console side covers and the lower carpet stuff, so I must find one like yours and study whats different. Does the lower carpet attach to anything there - the floor carpet or the removable side cover? The colour contrast between the seat facings and sides is interesting.
Mine (not Weissach) has a 'leather to sample' interior, including the luggage cover, white zippers and all, and the horn push.
