Thanks Dave & Jeannie... Sharks in the Mountains is one of the things on a very short list that I look forward to every year! I have regretted missing it a couple of times and do everything I can to make it. You both are great people on your own accord... together, you show us all that we are all in one big, extended family -without which, we would all just be gearheads.
Thanks again and keep up the great work (business, health & happiness)!

Thanks all for the compliments and especially thanks to all the folks who lent their expertise to troubleshoot "Zeus" (Especially, Fraggle, Dave, Earl, Jim, and many many more)!
For those who didn't hear the story, the reason Zeus had to travel to Sharks on a trailor, is because I trusted a Porsche Mechanic who claimed to know 928s (Lesson Learned). When I dropped it off at his place, the car was running, when I picked it up on my way to Sharks it wouldn't start and had to be trailered (sigh).
In any event, I will keep the group posted as to my progress and lessons learned. And believe me when I say, when you have Jim, Earl, Dave, Fraggle, etc. working on your car, you are going to learn something!!!!!
BTWm, Thanks to Jeanie and Dave R for another wonderful event!

Many thanks to Dave and Jeanie for making my second consecutive SITM a great experience. And a special shout out to Steven and Logan (Yardpro and his son) for accompanying me home.
Originally Steven asked if I'd ride up with him because he'd just re-assembled his 928 and didn't want to risk getting stuck on the side of the road with his son.
Turns out he was the one keeping me company as my fuel pump failed (overheating?) multiple times and caused moments of panic as I rolled to the side of the road with zero fuel flow.
With a couple of "rests" and a visit by David (owner of RedShark) and his family on I-40 during one of my rest stops, I felt well cared for and attended.
This is a great extended family!

Nice Steve, that turned out better then I expected. Ya I don't think the sportbike expected to get his *** handed to him. Glad you didn't video tape the first 5 seconds when we were equal LOL!

Wow. Looks like another great SITM was had by all.
I agree very cool/unique Avatar, Steve.
I can vouch first-hand for the Shark's ability to depride a 1000cc Kawasaki. I was the 'escort' bike a la Tour de France, at a Frenzy Fun Run a few years back. Flashers on, bringing up the rear..it looked very official and sanctioned (far from it).
When on my bike, I'm used to the caged animal effect when behind a long line of cars, but not this time...at least not in the long straights. At one point when there was a long stretch of straight, open, rural road ahead, someone (you know who you are ) up front decided that it was time to put down the hammer. The entire group concurred and I really had to pull everything out of that bike to keep up.
Aaah, the smell of clutches in the Summer.

Well, I've got way more people to thank than I have a shot at in this post, but here go a few. DR and Jeannie, thank you so much for another incredible event and for letting me warm up in the trailer on Friday night. It was cold outside.
AO, thanks for the drive on the Tail of the Dragon and all of your help organizing the trip to Banner Elk , and to you and Rhudy for taking two for the team.
Nettles, for being his hillbilly-*** self, and for the smokes.
The rest of the Detroit gang and Doerr for being awesome to hang out with. yardpro, you too man. Jim & Sue, and see this is where it starts to turm into everyone...
My dad and I had a great time up there. Time well spent.
I have to make the biggest thank you of all to the wife, who not only took care of our three young daughters while I was away, but WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL, IN AN AMBULANCE, WITH FOOD POISONING THE NIGHT I LEFT, AND DIDN'T TELL ME UNTIL I GOT BACK HOME BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO MAKE SURE MY DAD & I HAD A GOOD TIME!!!!
Yes, I know CAPS are yelling. I meant to yell! What a woman!

Sharks in the Mountains: The annual pilgrimage to 928 Mecca; where you are "normal" to be a 928er.
I first came in '04, and every year since.
My car year revolves around SITM. All maintenance to be done before June.
I have tailored my suspension to the Blue Ridge Parkway, it's a little bit stiff for New England.
Because of what a 928 is, and how old they are; you never know if the car will get you there and back... but it always does.
