I first came in '04, and every year since.
My car year revolves around SITM. All maintenance to be done before June.
I have tailored my suspension to the Blue Ridge Parkway, it's a little bit stiff for New England.
Because of what a 928 is, and how old they are; you never know if the car will get you there and back... but it always does.
+2. Except if you look too quickly at the photo, it looks like your engine is overheating.

We just got back home, and want to pass along another huge THANK YOU to Dave and Jeannie, for hosting a great event! And to all the friends we saw again, and the new friends that we met this time. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute!

We also had a rather pleasant drive to and from, with quite a variety of scenery and weather. Two days ago it was 99 degrees with 30 knot headwinds in Iowa, this morning was 33 degrees and snowing in Butte Montana. We covered a total of 6070 miles and the GT ran absolutely perfectly, couldn't be happier.

Wow, that was really good time to make it that far in that amount of time going back.

These are very easy cars to drive long distances, quickly.

On Saturday morning about 1100, I walked around the Beech Mt parking lots and counted 67.

I heard from a couple of people that there were between 90 and 100 cars there.

I'd say around 80 or 85. I didn't get to Beech until 11:30 or so and a few came in after me.

One car that was not there this year was Chuck Z's,......shame.

They were excellent.

From the official Registration "check in count" we had 93 928s there. I could tell just by feel it was slightly less than last year (106?). Honestly with gas prices as they are I thought it would be even less this year, once again you guys surprise me!

Regardless of the count and even if the quantity was less, the QUALITY was Sky High this year...Dang Guys, what a fantastic display of well maintained and enhanced 928s, has to be the best ever in that respect!

Just in "breakdowns" alone it was the best year I can recall ever! Only 1 actual stop you in your tracks failure, a TT breakage on a 91 S4. From what I was made aware of, anything else was non-critical things like leaking PS hoses/fittings etc.

Other than the usual frustration(that goes with the "Event Hosting job") of not getting to spend none, hardly any, or certain quality time with a lot of people there who attended...it was also one of the BEST EVER for me personally! You guys/gals sure know how to make a fellar feel better about life in general..THANKS!!

Thanks again to everyone who came to visit us. Been working on my official "SITM Wrap-up" post as I get time, with lots of individual thank yous, etc, hopefully finish it this weekend.

But in a nutshell....

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING SITM 2011 A SAFE AND FUN EVENT!!
