Jim, it sounds like you're committed........or should be. Have a great time and send pictures! Lots and lots of pictures. BTW, watch out for that AO guy, he will get you driving at unbelievable speeds, talk nothing other than 928's, have you drink waaay too much and ogle hotties at the gas station. He's nothin' but trouble, that guy. Wish I was there with both of you.

Unhappy

Once again, not in the stars for me to make SITM. I was able to get a last-minute reprieve from the wifey re: the kids' tournaments this weekend, but not having a *#%ing tensioner carrier bushing for the GT is preventing me from getting it back together. The smallest, seemingly insignificant part can really put the kibosh on things.
The '88 is getting a full-out mechanical resto, so that won't be road worthy until Fall (hopefully).
Everyone stay safe & enjoy the hell out of the weekend.
Dave & Jeannie, here's to your event being a huge success!

JP,
If you have a reprieve, but no 928.... why not just roll on down in whatever?

That's my plan if I can't get Perl back together in time...

Hell, roll on down with me!

Jim thats a very reasonable suggestion and a nice offer. I'd love to make it down there - by whatever means would get me there.
Problem is that the GT is on stands in the garage, parts/tools everywhere & is creating a logjam like you can't believe. The deal with the SO was: "..get the GT fixed & out of the garage, so that I can move around in there, and have fun at the car thingy. I'll get the kids to their games." I'd be pushing it to take off w/out having the GT fixed.
Good luck w/getting Perl done in time (I saw that list...wow!). Enjoy the weekend.

Yippee, we're in Tennessee just coming up on Nashville. Don't see any 928's yet, nor Porsches of any sort! Endangered species.

Mike, I'm sure it is - there's a inner & outer bushing for the tensioner carrier arm which would have been pulled w/the Porken swapout. If those were recently replaced (most are with t/b jobs) they're probably in good shape & you should keep them around. They're $25 apiece!
I've already ordered 2 pairs from 2 sources in hopes to get them here in time, but too late. I should have been on this months ago, I guess. I'll have a spare pair by the end of all this.
..but back to SITM!
Are you going?

There's less than 5,000 miles on my old tensioner parts.

We're headed to waynesboro in about half an hour, aiming for 4 or 5pm arrival. No hurries no worries!
