Default OK we are in Friday Harbor WA

We have made it to Friday Harbor and have spent a wonderful evening chatting and drinking a marvellous glass or 2 of red wine with Sue and Jim. Gonna have a real explore of the car tomorrow morning for the 1st time on a lift myself I think if Jim is willing! Hope to do some cycling and some kayaking as well.

Had a minor blowup in Portland but a replaced thermostat at Motor Sports International in Portland and we were off and running arriving here around 9:30PM on the ferry from the mainland.

Pictures of the car in a variety of spots up the west coast attached

Default The trip East starts tomorrow

OK so the trip now heads East towards Mass. Stopping in Spokane tomorrow then onwards to Bozeman to check in with Doug and Edd. Looking fwd to meeting them both.

From there Glacier then onwards along US 2, hoping to get to Sharks in Hell in early August. Will continue to post on this thread. If you are along the routeish and I could stop in and see you, please do PM me.

Thanks again to all,

Hey Simon,

Sorry I missed your PM. Looks like you left town a couple days early anyway? Hope you were able to get everything sorted out.

Safe travels!

hi Ed............pls let Simon know that the difference in the 82 MY brake systems is the calipers, brake pads and rotors. His car was bad vibes when on the brakes despite having the front rotors changed but not the pads. I suspect the pads are worn per the old rotors and should have been replaced w/the new rotors. The fluid needs flushing with new.

Enjoy his visit.........we did

Hi Malcolm - yep, we have the car up on the liftbars, all wheels off, and among other things, are looking at those brakes. We'll put new pads on today, all the way around (assuming he can get pads at one of the local parts stores - maybe a big assumption). Not sure why new pads weren't put on with the new rotors? Anyway, the rear pads are very worn. At least the fronts have plenty of material on them. If he can't get pads here, he'll be able to make to Hell and hopefully get some garage help there.
